Failed to refund nearly deposit for construction work never started or completed
Contacted *** mid march to redo our back deck He operates with the business name "*** ***" now
He responded right away, was very courteous and promptWritten estimates took a while to produce but they were detailed and helpful once produced
He asked for a deposit before he book the jobI compliedHe scheduled to start April Today is April 28thHe hasn't shown upNot onceI emailed,called and texted him no less than timesAt first he said a week delayWhen I called him he texted back and said he had left the state but would start the following weekHe then delayed again
I asked for my money back and we agreed that he would refund my money but would start this weekHe sent me what looks to be a sham email (six days ago) stating that he had refunded my moneyNo funds have been refundedNo emails, no texts, no calls for six daysAt this point

After writing me an invoice for a landscaping job, Mr. Herring barely completed 3 hours of work before asking me for the payment in cash, saying he would come back the next day to finish the work (removing the brush debris from my front lawn and pulling the stumps and debris from my backyard). I paid him $400 as requested, upon which he never finished the work, leaving 5 truckloads of debris in my yard to rot for nearly 3 weeks, ruining my lawn. When I asked for a refund, he told me he did not have the money and did not have any checks, then stopped returning my texts or emails. I reviewed him poorly on [redacted], upon which he contacted me to see if he could finish the work. He did not show up on the specified day. I had to pay someone else $120 to remove the debris, and I will have to pay someone else to finish removing the stumps in my backyard.
