Review: On April 23, 2013, I signed a statement of work (# 10021) with [redacted], owner of Helping Hands Handyman with the good faith to flawlessly deliver 3 services between April 26, 2013 and May 3, 2013, namely 1.Purchase and install new 10 Grey Aluminum Fascia (40') on front A frame of the property, 2.Remove 1 satellite dish from the roof and caulk holes and 3.Remove damaged tape and spackle from the ceiling in the living/family room and spackle/tape to finish coat. Then prime. [redacted] had received a payment of 50% of the fee - $150 (cashed on April 24) - for these services on April 23, 2013 when the SOW was signed. While performing #3 listed above on April 26, 2013, [redacted] damaged the ceiling of family room of the property leaving unsightly holes on the location where he had improperly placed the ladder. Further to this, [redacted] abandoned the work and left the property without informing me or my husband even though he had not flawlessly completed #3 in the contract. My husband and I phoned [redacted], neither of which was attended by [redacted]. Subsequently, [redacted] responded with a voicemail to me (available for evidence) that he will take care of the damage the week of 4/29/2013. Since then, [redacted] has not returned any of my phone calls nor [redacted] and has not corresponded. I sent him a written notice to formally notify him and give him an opportunity to rectify the said damages and complete the contract work immediately. He received the letter on May 10th (as evident from the return receipt I received from USPS), however, he has not corresponded back yet.Desired Settlement: The fascia of the A-frame of our property needs immediate replacement and I have no other choice but to engage another contractor to complete this, to prevent further damage to the roof. I need [redacted] to (1.)return the payment that I made to him, (2.) pay for the damages that he caused to the ceiling of the family room and (3.) pay for further damages caused to the roof because of delay in fixing the damage.
