Review: I work for a property management company. However I would prefer not to involve the business in the complaint because this was my personal experience I had while working. Upon processing rental applications one of our tasks is to get rental references from the current or previous landlord. I get rental references on a daily basis and process them with no issue. I have also sent verifications to landlords and property management companies and received them back without any hesitation from the other end because being in this profession we all know this is one of our jobs. For this particular applicant I had to get a reference from DLK enterprises. They were having difficulty receiving the form due to there fax machine. So I emailed the form. At this point it has been a week with no reply. So I called and checked to see if they received the email. The person by the name of [redacted] answered the phone. When I told her who I was she sounded frustrated. She told me the email I sent her was not readable. I asked if it was possible to do the reference over the phone. I gave her the address of the previous tenant. I told her unfortunately the applicant did not provide the apartment number. Then she said in a sarcastic manner that she has 1700 tenants and it will be hard to do it without that information. I gave her the name of the applicant. She put me on hold. When she came back she addressed me in a very unprofessional manner " What do you need". I began to ask her questions. Every answer was in a rude and frustrated tone. At the end I asked for her name. I asked who her manager was she said that she was the manager and the only one above her is the owner. I expressed I am asking because she sounds frustrated. She responded by saying "I am extremely frustrated" She expressed in a very rude and unprofessional manner that she has more important things to do then to do rental references. Which is unusually because that is a part of our daily job. She said that I have been "hassling" them. Cont...Desired Settlement: ...Cont. Complaint. I said that the issues were on their end due to fax issues. I also pointed out that if the email I sent her was not readable she should have had enough consideration to send me an email stating that she cannot read it. Instead of disregarding it, which lead me to call and ask on the status. (Resolution)I would like to make the individual who is above [redacted] to know about her poor work practices and unprofessionalism.
