Review: I hired Harris & MacNeil, LLP in August of 2011. I have not heard back from them. I have left a few messages and sent a few emails. My contract is about to expire, I even passed along the information to them so they could collect of the Debt that owed. My contract is about to expire with nothing done on the part of Harris & MacNeil, LLP. They do not respond to emails or calls. I would NOT recommend them.Desired Settlement: I would like them to finish the job they started 2 years ago. I would like a call back.

Response:
We agreed to accept Ms. [redacted] judgment in attempt to recover the court award. First of all, our company does not "guarantee" that the debt is recoverable, and the client is notified from the beginning that all case updates are by email only. If Ms. [redacted] has sent an email inquiry, a response would have been sent to her.
Secondly, our company policy and contract is for four years. Ms. [redacted] without our consent, changed the document to 2 years.
Thirdly, Ms. [redacted] debtor resides outside of the state of Arizona, in a state that is "closed" for collection, meaning a judgment in her state of residence would be required in order to collect the debt.
Lastly, we will be returning to Ms. [redacted] her file, at which point it will be her responsibility to renew this judgment in 2016 if she wished to pursue the collection with another agency. We have no desire to renew or continue a business relationship with Ms. [redacted].
Sincerely,
Consumer
Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I have an email with approval of the 2 year contract. Also, they did not respond to me via email or phone, nor did they ever tell me that they could not take my case if the debtor is out of state. They only know she is out of state because I told them. Regards,[redacted]
Very pour. I am a past customer and I do not recommend them. I had to make all contacts for updates on my case and no follow up in going after the party that owes me money. They have you sign over all rights to go after the debtor and then make a poor effort to collect if it doesn't fall into their lap.
This company is very unprofessional Sharol Harris did not follow through with her promise to send the satisfaction of judgement after she charged my account for $550 . She was very rude and always claims she is on her way to court and wont be back in the office. I thought business hours were between 8 - 5??? I was informed that they had an order to garnish my wages but when I called the Manistee Justice court the said it had not. This company used bulling tatics to steal monies from me which they had no right to. The interest rate doesn't apply until after a year and it has not been a year since the date of Judgement so the cost should still be $249. When I called to inquire about what fees were added she screamed at me and brushed me off, she then told me that their other office will not answer incoming calls none of my questions were answered and she stated " I shreaded your file" who shreads files what records will they use? My attorney will be contacting this company and the company (L&M HOME INVESTMENT LLC) both very unprofessional and dishonest companies, and I will be disputing these charges I'd rather my wages be garnished through a court atleast then I would know for sure that this issue would be resolved once and for all
If you had paid the judgement in the first place, there would have been no wage garnishment. This is a testament to Harris and MacNeil, in that they do collect!
