Save yourself the hassle and book with someone else
Save yourself the hassle and bypass Harrington Housing. My daughter booked a particular room (there were several to choose from) on their Islington, London website. After paying a service fee and deposit (total of around AUS $3000), and showing evidence she had the funds to pay for the rent, she received a proper, legally binding contract which was signed by both parties. She then received an email saying her booking had been accepted. 2 weeks later, we received an email saying they had cancelled her booking, because they had decided she needed to book a minimum of 9 months despite signing the contract, AND advertising rental periods for a minimum of 2 months. We were shocked, and when we looked for alternatives while waiting for a response to our email to Harrington Housing regarding the sudden cancellation, we came across a listing of their’s on Airbnb, advertising the same room my daughter had booked, that could be booked for less time than my daughter had the room for.

Fuyez , en plus du stress de changement de pays , vous aurez un total contraire de ce qui vous est vendu .
Les logements sont très sale , équipement très défectueux .
Vous attendrez très souvent aux heures de pointes entre 15 et 25 minutes avant d'avoir 1 ascenseur .
Vous rencontrerez des personnes qui prennent l'ascenseur avec leurs moto ! ( Photos ) l'appuies ) des animaux alors qu'ils sont totalement interdit sauf pour personnes handicapés ou mal voyant .
La filtration est totalement obstruée par la poussière et reviendrez allergique à cous sur.
Des sanitaires sans pression voir même pour moi pas d'eau chaude dans la cuisine .
Le lit est un canapé clic-clac de très mauvaise qualité .
je suis resté sans wifi pendant 10 jours ! pour de la distanciation ,,,,,,
tous les problèmes rencontrés , signalé et jamais personnes ne vous réponds , la seule chose pour laquelle vous pouvez avoir des nouvelles est pour le paiement du loyer .
Vraiment je pourrais encore en ajouter , si comme moi vous venez à Toronto pour vos études , ne prenez surtout pas cette colocation .

Bad experience
Worst room I’ve ever stayed in, worst value for the money too. The company failed to inform me that the room I rented had noise insulation issues. I could hear the other tenant’s conversations and he could hear mine, there was no privacy, and the company didn’t even try to do anything to make things better.

I resided at the Harrington apartments in D.C from December 2019- March 2020. The Harrington apartments offers student housing in the U.S, Canada and London. I had to pay an initial deposit of $650 where it was stated in the contract that $500 would be refunded to me 21 days after I left the apartment. I have constantly enquired about my refund since I have left and I have been given every excuse imaginable. First it was 'their bad', then the financial office was closed, to not responding now the pandemic has been really bad. I left before there was a lockdown which would have given them a two week window to refund my money. I was so frustrated that I had to threaten them that I would report them to the Revdex.com and file a claim against them until I get my money back. After I threatened them they apologized for the delay and that they will send me my money. He asked for my banking information which I gave him and then he said he would send a cheque. I refused a cheque because I worried it may be a bad one that he would write and I preferred a wire transfer. The next day he sends a receipt of the wire transfer for $435. He stated that I did not pay the last month's rent of $50, which I have a record for, and he is refusing to pay the $15 for the wire transfer even though I have paid banking charges each time. In the past they were to quick to tell me I was $15 short and I needed to add it to the next month's rent. I waited for two days and the money was not deposited I asked him to check and it was only after I contacted his boss he told me that the bank said I gave him the wrong account. I called my bank again and got it rectified last week Friday and sent him the new routing number. I am still awaiting for the money to be deposited. He has yet to contact me to indicate if any problem arose this time.
