Regarding my appointment with Dr. [redacted]: I was FULLY aware that he is a naturalpathic type doctor, and was also FULLY aware as to their practice. I was prepared to cover the $300 cost for the first hour as quoted. The doctor had a patient before me that ran into my appointment time, so at 12:30 I finally got in and the clock started for my hour. I had taken various items with me and was expecting that for my $300 we were going to get right to work, after he reviewed the approximate 10 pages of questions I completed. Instead, he spent the entire hour giving me his sales pitch and how much all of his time and treatment was going to cost me. Six to eight months of time, about $1500 for lab tests, and then each appointment with him would be $250/hr. He quoted around $5,000.00 or more by the time he was done. I tried several times to let him know that I understood, and kept expecting to get down to a more useful session for my $300. I was very aware of the time slipping away. The doctor could have departed this information in 15 minutes or less; however, it went on and on with his credentials and processes and costs, and chat that didn't get down to much else. Finally, after my last effort to ask for a sensitivity-muscular test on some oil paint I brought in, he conducted this at 1:30 for less then 10 minutes. Given this, my time jumped to 1 hour and 10 minutes, and my bill was $350. I was shocked. Morally reprehensible practice is how I felt when I left. I was stunned. The doctor could have handled the 1 hour sales pitch in 15 minutes. Had I known I was paying for his sales pitch and nothing else, I would NEVER have gone to see him. I was given a services and fees sheet after I submitted my paperwork upon arrival. I'm quite smart and fully understood his practice and fees. I feel that $350 for a 70 minute sales pitch and a brief look was morally reprehensible. I left feeling outraged. The surprise of this visit and the lack of any useful information or care should be known.
