Review: My husband and I visited the store on June 23, 2014. My husband purchased some flip-flops while I was looking at sunglasses. He completed his purchase while I was deciding on the pair of sunglasses. I purchased the sunglasses because I was told they were a special glass and scratch resistant also because I require a specific wrap around sunglass to provide maximum protection from the sun's UVA?UVB rays.
After the purchase we returned home, we live out past Alpine. On the trip home I developed a headache. Upon arrival at home I removed the sunglasses and realized immediately that the side pieces were pressing against the bone behind my ear causing the headache. I called the store the next day told the person who answered the call that about the problem and that I would be bringing the glasses back. There was no response to that statement. I returned to the store on July 2, 2014 to return the glasses to obtain a credit on my credit card. The credit to my card was refused and a store credit was issued. Supposedly the clerk discussed the issue with another employee while I was waiting, I do not know who she spoke to. End result they issued a store credit - took the glasses back to sell.
On July 17, 2014 I wrote a letter to [redacted], the owner of the store, describing the circumstances and issues concerning the purchase. I have had IOP surgery which requires a specific sunglass for protection for my eyes. I do not anticipate ever purchasing anything else from the store. I have a limited amount of money and consider the purchase price of $239.24 a total loss to me since I have no product to show for it. He has the product to sell, they were worn only 4 hours. I made a telephone call within 24 hours after the purchase to make them aware of the problem. To date I have not received any acknowledgement of my letter to [redacted].
I did NOT see any return policy on the door on at the cash register. Nor did the salesclerk state any return policyDesired Settlement: Under the circumstances since my purchase was for a very specific item for a specific reason and that the product was returned undamaged to be sold I believe it is only equitable to return my money in full by refund either to my card or a check from the company. To be very blunt, I have an eye condition which requires certain products, there is no other product in the store which I would consider purchasing. The other sunglasses are not wrap around, the ones I purchased I thought were perfect, they weren't. I was told by the sales clerk when I returned the item that perhaps I should take a hairdryer and heat the earpieces to bend them to a better shape. That is not the desired option, I should not have to do anything to get them to fit better.
