Leased on May 13, 2017, during an ownership transition between*** and ***
When I signed lease, my request was for a short term lease because we were between houses. Agent offered a lease special of 699 per month with a 30- dollar additional fee for a 30 day notice to vacate. She (***) advocated the 30-dollar additional monthly fee might be less expensive than the normal 60 day notice requirement.
Closed home on November 29, 2017 and immediately notified apartment management that I would vacate no later than December 31, 2017.
At move out, I was notified of a 60 day agreement which meant an additional month of fees due. After explaining my understanding of the terms of my lease, I asked for a waiver of the additional month fees.
Manager said she didn't have authority to rule on that request. I asked it to be submitted to whom ever might have authority. She says *** and would submit.
Later when I came into office to inquire of my request, she says she forgot to submit, so I asked if I may. She agreed.
Registered mail, three unreturned calls with no contact, I returned and paid in full without any reconciliation or explanation from manager, ***.
I request*** reimburse me $729 rent plus $18.53 for water service for a total of $747.53.

No question of the validity of the contract. As my documents show, I fulfilled all my responsibilities timely. *** properties also not involved. *** sold to *** in late 2016. I rented in mid May. I understand the difficulty in managing rental property and the constant fight for deserved compensation. I'm not trying to renege on unpaid rent. This complaint is about one leasing agent (since dismissed)and the process of transitioning from one property owner to another. As my cancelled checks note, I was under the impression of having bought a 30-day lease buy-out by paying an additional 30 dollar monthly fee. Agent said "30 dollars monthly will be cheaper than two months rent". When I specifically asked about the 60-day requirement, "That's automatically printed on all the leasing documents" was her reply. I assumed what the agent said was correct. The Leasing Agreement used is a generic***, but Hampton's additions were and if still being used confusing and misleading. This situation is unusual. I ask *** to waive the addition 30-day fee and return said funds if only to remove a past tenants negative experience. I was out, keys turned in and had good apt inspection on Dec. 23, 2017. Checking in January 2018, apt. was not even listed as available.
