Hallincor Concrete Construction

I hired a contractor on June 4th to fix a leak in the foundation of my house. He said it would take 3-4 days. He asked for $2250 as down payment which I gave him. He cashed my check on July 1st. He put off doing the job for weeks and lied to me as to when he would start, causing further damage to the house. I fired him and hired another. He refuses to give my money back. What can I do? I am retired and a Veteran on a fixed income and cannot afford to lose this amount. thank you, *** I did file a complaint with the Attorney General on 09/17/2020 and have received positive correspondence from them concerning my complaint.
