Review: My roommates and I worked with [redacted] of PRIME Realty in our search for an apartment in Hoboken. She was very helpful, even scheduling multiple showings that met our needs. When we found an apartment we wanted, we got all necessary paperwork, credit checks, security deposits, and realtor's fees paid on Monday, June 10th. We were told on Thursday, June 13th, that the lease had been signed by the landlord and that we had procured the apartment. My roommates and I arranged for our current apartments to be rented, which they were.Ms. [redacted] informed us on Monday, June 17th, that the landlord had not signed the lease and had in fact decided to sell the property rather than rent it. We know are scrambling to find housing in 2 weeks that meet our needs, while giving up prime apartments in great Hoboken locations. The realtor's fees had already been deposited before the deal was completed. They have been returned, but this is not helping us find suitable replacement apartments. When asked if [redacted] would assist in finding another suitable apartment in our price range, at a reduced realtor's fee due to the circumstances she's put us in, she refused to show us anything without us paying a full fee. We understand that the landlord pulled out last minute as was his right due to a 3-day clause in the lease, but believe that Ms. [redacted] should have warned us that this was a possibility before letting us know IN WRITING that we had the apartment and to start making arrangements. I have all of this saved in email chains that I can provide. We've had our lawyer look at the lease and we don't have legal recourse due to the 3 day clause, even thought it was not explained to us in the lease. We feel PRIME was negligent in giving us all the facts and telling us to rent our current apartments, then leaving us high and dry once the lease was voided.Desired Settlement: We'd like PRIME to pay for any costs incurred to store our belongings and housing temporarily as we look for a comparable apartment to the one we had signed a lease for and were told we had since we've been displaced as of July 1st. We're also requesting refund of $140 for the credit checks we had to pay for, as well as $378 for the three separate renters insurance policies he had to pay for and prove before we could move in.
