On 4/29/2020 an estimate was given to me by the owner of Hall Brothers Tree & Outdoor services. The man, ***, was very detailed in the scope of the work and answered all questions I had and even gave ideas for how my yard would look better through his company. He was booked and paid 50% of the full amount right there. Roughly two weeks later, the first phase was done by removing debris - young man said another crew would return to take down trees and would need to re-slope area because it was a water trench. Within two days, the marked trees were taken down and *** asked for the rest of the payment of contract, but stated he'd have to wait for the area to dry off (lots of rain at this time) or them to re-slope area. He was paid in full. Due to weather, weeks went by where rain fell and area couldn't dry. In the middle of June when it stopped raining for days at a time, *** was contacted to come back to do the re-sloping of area. He stated his machine had gotten stuck and broke down at another job and he was waiting for it to be repaired, but that my house was "on his schedule" and he "didn't forget about me." Another two weeks went by with no work and *** was contacted again, he said he come out as soon as he could. The issue then became that where his crew originally scraped (weeds and pker bushes) it had started to grow back due to the rain and it would need to be scraped again to remove it all. On July 6th, another call was placed and *** stated he did sent a crew to finish, which was not the truth. I've been working from home and now crew ever came back. In the same conversation, *** said the day the trees came down (5/13/20) he told us that he couldn't re-slope because there wasn't enough dirt. A contradiction to what he stated earlier in conversation. With additional money, we agreed he would add the dirt that was needed. With many back and forth comments about the contract not being completed and him having the entire amount already, it ended with no resolution.
