The first time my 4 yr old daughter got a haircut at Villa Salon and Spa, it cost $23. However, the second time we were charged $65. My nanny took her to both appointments, and when she showed me the receipt for $65, I called to see if this was an error. I was told it was not an error. $65 for a 4 year old's hair cut, I asked? They looked back in their system and validated the price of the first visit was $23. I was told the price difference was due to a different level of experience between the stylists, but the stylist was the same for both cuts. And in fact, I booked the second appt with the stylist himself on the phone. I was never told when making the second appointment that the price would be different. When I called to inquire about the cost and express my disappointment for the change in price, the proprietor was incredibly rude and and insulting. She barely let me speak, and told me I was at fault for not asking about the price when I made the appointment. Why would I when I was going back for the exact same service with the exact same stylist? Further, the proprietor insulted me by telling me I should take my daughter to Supercuts if I was looking for a cheap haircut.
In response to Mrs. concerns,
We at Villa were more than responsive and accommodating to Mrs. little girl's needs. As a matter of fact, she " ***" received royalty treatment (a service that should have cost $100-only cost her $23) the first time at the Salon.
At ***'s first visit she was treated her for a FREE conditioning treatment and that was out of our own courtesy ( of which that was explained to ***'s nanny as she is the one who brought her to the salon). That day, our Level 1 Stylist (who charges $23) who called in sick the last minute did not service ***.
Meanwhile, the Master Stylist who holds over 30+ years of experience (who's fixed brochure prices start at $65+ for girls' haircuts ages 0-12) took on the work for our Level 1 Stylist to honor her for the first time only. The nanny explicitly understood that out of the goodness of our hearts we were treating *** with such awesome experience.
When Mrs., ***'s mother called the Salon and made the appointment herself with the Master Stylist, the Salon was extremely kind in scheduling ***'s haircut in accordance with her nanny's availability. On the day of service, *** extremely loved and enjoyed her visit even more with our Master Stylist, whom she called "my stylist".This all was happening as her nanny witnessed this encounter and took many pictures of *** being so excited about her new look!
After three days of ***'s service at the Salon, Mrs., ***'s mother, called in to address and quickly to accuse the Salon of us not realizing that her little *** is only 4 years of age, stating: " How could you charge that amount for an only 4 year old child?!" The Salon expressed their concern stating that these are policy prices for our Master Stylist who is vividly on our website and that according to his level of expertise his prices were much more than a level one out of school stylist.
Mrs. never addressed the prices nor whether she was unsatisfied with her daughter's beautiful looking and professional haircut. Her ultimate focus were the accusations of us overcharging her.
Let the facts show themselves while her lovely nanny was a wonderful witness of both visits at Villa; of which both were completely professional and accommodating.
We at Villa would like to put all this behind us and have already made a decision to refund not only the the difference between the two prices, which Mrs. asked us to; but we are more than willing and in good faith, refunding $65 plus the tip, which the nanny had added to the credit card charge because *** was ecstatic about her haircut.
Therefore, her total refund as of 1/22/2020 is $70.00.
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution (the credit amount of $70) is satisfactory to me. Please let me know how/when I can expect that refund.
Regarding the business owner's response, I want to call out two things. First, she did not apologize for the inappropriate or insulting behavior towards me when I first called to inquire about the price. Second, she does not tell the truth. For example, I called the salon the day of my daughter's cut, not 3 days after as she states. These two things reinforce my original complaint that she does not do what's right for customers, nor does she demonstrate honest business practices.
