Hacker Shack Computers

Review: 10-16-2014 Best Buy had given my daughter's laptop a clean bill of health.We have the extended warranty on the laptop. Best Buy concluded by saying the laptop had viruses. On 10-20-2014 I took the laptop to the Hacker Shack computer shop in Monongahela. I handed the Best Buy folder to the owner and explained it needed the viruses removed he asked me to pay 100 dollars upfront. I questioned the prepaying tactic. He assured me he was on the up and up and I paid. About an hour later I received a call from the Hacker Shack asking for my daughter's password. He said he couldn't remove the viruses without it. The owner called again with the same plight. He said her keyboard wasn't working properly. I told him I would pick up the computer and I expected my money to be refunded. When my daughter and I picked up the computer 10-22-2014 he said he had a few friends messing with it. I was livid that others without credential were messing with the mechanical aspect of the laptop. The computer doesn't turn on now and he kept forty dollars out of the hundred I paid him. I paid him to solely remove viruses which he admittedly could not accomplish. I was really defrauded. I will never never pay in advance again. I have the Best Buy Geeks Squads expertise on this device and have insurance to cover mechanical failures.Desired Settlement: Forty dollars that the Hacker Shack charged me and did not deliver on service.
