I hired Honey2Do to do repair work on my home after Hurricane Michael. They hardly done any work so I fired them and they will not return the deposit
I hired this company to do repair work on my house after I received hurricane damage from Hurricane Michael. After 7 months they only had the insulation in the exterior walls, some ductwork, and the rough in for electrical done. After constantly would not get responses to my texts, email, and phone calls to found out when work was going to be done on my house I decided to terminate them due to lack of progress and breech of contract due to them not meeting the timelines in the contract. They went through three project managers and with all of them, the few times they did return my call is was all excuses. Then I would go another month without being able to reach them again. After I terminated them I asked them to determine the cost for the work that was done and return the rest of my deposit. It has been 4 months since then and they have acknowledged they owe me money through email but they have not returned the remainder of my deposit.
I would like the remainder of my deposit to be returned.
This customer has been turned in to our attorney to handle. There is a discrepancy on the amount of the refund, therefore since no agreement has been reached between parties, our attorney is waiting to hear from Mr. attorney. Once settled on the amount and scheduled a time frame to return the deposit this account will be closed.

This company has not made any effort to return my deposit. They have acknowledge they owe me money but refused to return that money. My attorney has sent correspondence which they have not responded to. They have acknowledge they received that correspondence but have made no effort to contact my attorney. I've asked for their attorney information and the owner John M, refused to give me the attorney contact information. It is not clear if they even have an attorney. I have provided my attorney information for them to contact him at any time and they have not done so. Additionally, I have received a lien letter from Panhandle Insulation due to the fact this company used them to do the insulation on my house but did not pay the bill. This is theft what they are doing.
Once attorneys are involved they handle the case between them. I don't need to know your attorney and you don't need to know mine. If your attorney is doing a good job, you should be receiving copies of the letters send out by him and copies of ours. At the same time, you should know that you no longer need to contact us. Filing a complaint here is not going to speed things up. We are aware you are owed money, but at this point, our attorneys are trying ti figure out the amount that is owed since you and Honey2do, Inc., couldn't come to an agreement.

It is clear from the owners response that this company is not a trustworthy company. There is no reputable business that will purposely withhold money owed to a customer. They have made no effort for their attorney to contact or respond to mine. They have his contact information. I hope everyone thinking about doing business with this company reads this.
Mr., once again, our attorney has been in contact with yours since we are working on the settlement amount. It is obvious you have not been kept in the loop by your attorney, which does not make Honey2do, Inc., untrustworthy; if we were, I wouldn't be bother with your complaints. Instead of wasting your time coming here, request an update from your attorney. Have a great day.
Honey2DON'T - ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE.
I came away from my experience with this company feeling like I had been emotionally abused and have lasting PTSD. The idea of ever hiring another person to do work on my home makes me want to throw up. I spent the last 2 months of my 9 months dealing with them (was supposed to be a 4-6 month job) waking up almost every night with panic attacks. I cried on the phone with them at least once a week. If I posted my text message threads here, you would be shocked at the rudeness and unprofessionalism.
They started strong, did a great sales pitch, and got the early work done well and in a timely manner. But soon work slowed and slowed, people came by less and less often, and at once point nearly 3 months went by without anything being done. I was repeatedly ignored, talked down to, and gaslighted.
In the end, we were so late on completion that we risked losing our home so I had to accept sub-par work, shoddy workmanship, downgraded materials, and over-charges just to get away from them. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.
Wow, Mrs., I can not believe you actually wrote this to the Revdex.com. Not only your job has been done months ago (12/07/2019) but I personally went to the Panhandle to make sure your job was finished as soon as possible. I had apologize about David, but yet, he was the one that finished your home. You paying other contractors because you thought things would move faster? (Obviously they didn't and we were the ones that finished your home) was your decision, also paying them behind our backs, not telling us about it, and they were stilling billing our office for work that you had paid. We had issues, yes, I agree to that, but we worked hard to get you done as fast as we could including fixing problems from other sub-contractors you hired. Over charges????? Downgraded materials? ??? I think I remember correctly of the discounts you received for the difference in the materials. What you failed to realized is the fact that Hurricane Michael affected your entire town, and you were not the only one in a rush to get back into your home. So set backs on a disaster situation are normal, but that is something no one could understand in your town. At the same time, you kept on saying "I need to sell this house", so you are complaining about a house that you didn't even went back to. I think you filing this complaint after such a long time is worthless and backstabbing coming from you.
Failure to contact me, Failure to complete work, Failure to return money of unfinished work, Irate Owner, Failure to provide expense report of funds
Signed Contract with Honey2Do on 4/15/19 to complete interior and exterior of home. They worked on the home for 2 weeks, and never went back. Property Manager David failed to give me updates because they never went back to my property. I would text/call for updates and sometimes would have to text again a week later because I received no response. I hired someone to look at my home and was told wiring was shoved back into walls (not rewired as Honey2Do said. They did not demo the whole home but they were getting ready to paint. Painting over base boards instead of replacing them as the insurance paid them to do. Gave me a cheaper garage door and my insurance approved them for a premium garage door with windows as I had previously. I learned this morning they forged my husbands signature on the notice of commencement to obtain a permit, that was also signed by their notary. My husband was not present, did not present a drivers license or sign. Someone in his company signed for him. Once I finally spoke to him to work things out, he was very irate, yelling at me, feeling I was entitled wanting to speak to the owner because I was having issues. I asked to please give me another contact as David their property manager would never respond to me, he then forwarded that email to his property manager CCing me so he can see what I said involving my concerns after I asked to work with someone else, then proceded to say that is who I will continue to work. When I finally asked them to leave my home because I was concerned with the well being of my home. They threw a tantrum, kicked off my storm door, opened all my windows, opened my garage door, and left my property unsecured and unsafe. We are a military family who needed help fixing my property while we live remote and they knew someone would break in my home and damage it. They continue to tell me they will not refund me for the money that was not spent. I hired a 3rd party adjuster to review my adjusters report to what was actually worked and it was less than half. Honey2Do will not provide me an expense report of how they spent my funds. and they have illegally forged my husbands name on documents.
I have submitted to Honey2Do a licensed adjuster who has reviewed the scope of work with the work honey2do. Honey2do did not complete the work they paid and I am owed a refund of unfinished work. They can keep the funds they actually used but over half of it wasnt. I need to hire new contractors to finish the work.
Definitely do not recommend. If you want your home done properly, find someone capable. And that is NOT honey2do. Not only do they not do work to code, they don't have any respect for their customers. Not only did I have to fight for my own materials at times, I had to correct their field guys math on more than on occasion! They don't have their own workers. They hire fly by night crews and don't bother to supervise them at all. They leave projects unfinished and they cannot seem to stick to a deadline. Not only was it on me, the customer, to prove my scope work AND whether or not the "owner" had agreed upon my deadline but it was also on me, the customer, to have to fight to have my jobs done correctly. After going through hurricane Michael and struggling to find people who would actually try to help us put the pieces back together, it was a huge slap in the face to have had to fight with honey2do just to get the stuff done Not only right but to code and worth some respect.
Whatever you do , do NOT hire this company to do any type of work if you expect it to be done as promised . I contacted them for an estimate approximately one month ago after buying a house that was in need of some repairs / renovations ( we had used a similar company locally ). We wanted one company that could do most of the renovations and after reading the reviews we thought this one would fit our needs . We bought the house in May and needed the renovations done in a timely manner so that our daughter could move in prior to starting graduate school . We also had to time the renovations around other repairs that needed to be done first and with still others that could not be completed prior to Honey 2Do doing their part of the renovations . I contacted the company around Mother's Day and had to call them repeatedly to get the actual written estimate . We wanted the exterior of the house painted , stucco repaired , the roof sealed and a window installed . I sent many emails and had many phone call conversations with Ginger , the administrator and person who answers the phone and who does the scheduling . I finally got the written estimate from James on May 24 ( van was broke , they were behind on estimates , excuse after excuse ). As soon as I received the estimate I emailed the corporation office and the administrator , Ginger , to inform them that we accepted the estimate and that we wanted to proceed with the work . I also called Ginger and gave her the dates of when the electrician and kitchen installers would be there and the code to the lock box . She said she would speak to the owner , John , and after several more emails and phone calls the men were scheduled to start work on June 4-8 . During the conversations , we discussed the window installation , confirmed the type of window we wanted and she was told that getting the window done first was a priority as the alarm system needed to be installed and the driftwood paneling could not be completed until the window was installed ( all of the other work was exterior and could be done after my daughter moved in ). Ginger also stated that she would order the window that was written in the estimate and that a deposit was not necessary since the renovations were less than $5,000. Last week I called and emailed Ginger to confirm the start date of June 4 and to advise her that the electricians were done with their work . Yesterday ( the day the window was supposed to be installed ) I received a phone call from the original estimator James that the window had not be ordered . Apparently , it was a special order and now ( the day it was supposed to be installed !) they would require a deposit before they could even order the window . The window would take several weeks before it would come in ! Several phone calls later , they did not take a deposit from me ( didn't know how ) and I have been getting the run around for 2 days . I was promised that John , the owner would contact me ( didn't happen ) and James promised he would get the issue resolved even if he had to drive to every glass place and get the window and drive to Orlando to get the deposit check from me himself . I never got a phone call from john the owner , James or ginger to let me know the status of the window or when the work would be started ( if at all ). It took a lot of time and effort to get other estimates from other companies to do the renovations that I passed by when I hired homey2do . Now , I am right back to where I started . If you want a company that is full of excuses , blows you off , doesn't respond to emails or return phone calls , doesn't communicate with you or amongst themselves , makes promises and doesn't fulfill them and says " well , I told know what to tell you ".... then hire this one .
Good morning to all. My name is John M owner of Honey2do, Inc. After a full review of this complaint I would like to first start of by stating that it is our policy to try and accommodate all customers request. Are we always able to meet all accommodations of course not but we do give it our 100%. After reviewing all documentation regarding Mrs. M's complaint I see she emailed my office twice regarding her acceptance to our companies bid however I do not see at anytime where she sent a signed copy of the estimate back to my office which is always required. Secondly as for the deposit she is correct for a job less then $5000 I usually do not require a deposit however when an item has to be special ordered we will require enough to cover that item. (In which I know Mrs. M was advised of this and her response to Ginger was why is it a special order I seen it at Lowe's) Mrs. M was then advised she had more then likely seen a window that looks like what was currently installed but not the correct dimensions. Ginger then politely asked if she had found a window with the correct demissions, if so could she please advise and we would go get it right then. Mrs. M's response was how would I know isn't that your job? Unfortunately I apologize we didn't meet the start date Mrs. M wanted as we always try our best to meet those accommodations. At Honey2do we strive to keep our prices very fair which I'm sure Mrs. M can strongly agree with and with doing so we have a very large work load on our hands. So when we set dates every customer is advised the dates given are tentative dates and subject to change due to weather. Maybe Mrs. M is unaware that in Brevard County where the job she requested be done which was in zip code *** has rained for month straight as she does not reside in this zip code. In conclusion I will use this complaint to be sure some things are implemented into my company policies to ensure everyone is covered in all angles. Secondly I will be more then happy to order her window expedited and no additional charge if Mrs. M agrees to sign the estimate and email back to my office. I will also be glad to expedite the job for her as well once the window arrives again as long as she is aware this is weather permitting considering all her work is exterior work.
I sent an email to Ginger right after I received the estimate stating that we would like to go ahead with the renovations . I have all of the email threads documented as well as a log of when I made the phone calls to your office and who I spoke to there . It was always ginger and on the day of the scheduled window installation it was the original estimator , James . I was never told the estimate had to be signed in anybohoje call or email by any representative of your office . Furthermore , James came out as the initial estimator and measured the window . Why would I measure a window when you are the ones responsible for the installation and how would I know that this window had to be special ordered ? I had several phone calls with Ginger regarding the exact type of window that we wanted . I advised her that we wanted the exact window that was listed in the estimate and not a hurricane / impact resistant one because the house came equipped with hurricane shutters . Ginger told me " she would take care of it , she had spoken to you ( John , the owner ) regarding the exact days of scheduling and that these were the days you would schedule as you needed a full crew to do the work . Additionally , Ginger stated that you did not require a deposit for the window as the job was less then $5,000. I was told repeatedly by James that you would call me via a phone conference to try to move forward with the renovations . I was willing and able to give you a deposit for the window ( even after I was informed that the window had not even been ordered yet on the day it was supposed to be installed ). I told James that you could start doing the other renovations on he house while we were waiting on the window ( the stucco repair , roof repair and painting ) but I never got the courtesy of a response from you or a call back from a James or Ginger . When I tried to give a deposit for the window , neither James nor Ginger could take the deposit over the phone ( no credit card availability ð?¤?) ... I was told that only you could do that ... problem was you were " never on the office or available to respond back to your clients ). I turned down a lot of other handymen and certified contractors to go with your company . I waited approximately 4-6 weeks for the work to get scheduled ( and several weeks for the written estimate ) - only to be ignored . Your office has serious issues with communication. As a physician , if I ran my office that way I would not be in business . Own up to your mistakes- the problem starts and ends with you as the owner of the company . As it stands right now , I have a general contractor contracted to do the work . The owner is responsive and communicates with me directly - maybe you need to start doing the same . It's unfortunate that your staff knew ( but didn't care ) ... that the renovations needed to be timed and completed along with other renovation that were being done ( new kitchen , electrical work ) before my daughter can move in and start graduate school
