I am writing this letter on behalf of *** ** ***, President/CEO of Energy Federal Credit UnionAn investigation has been made in reference to John TShedlosky's complaint to the Revdex.com dated January 19, 2016.*** *** maintained an account with a balance of $at our
Credit Union with no activity or member contact since July 16, In accordance with the Maryland State Unclaimed Property Act (requiring all financial institutions to report any account that has had no transaction activity or member contact for three (3) years), we sent *** *** an Escheat letter on August 7, indicating our intent to escheat his account and included instructions on how to avoid having his balance remitted to the stateHis response was required by September 18, 2015.We received *** *** response (5cc attachment #1), dated December 21, and post-marked December 22, 2015, well after the required timeframe.We then responded to *** *** with a letter (see attachment#2) letting him know that his account balance was escheated because he had not responded in timeIn that same letter we provided him with the steps he needed to take in order to claim his funds from the Comptroller of MarylandPlease note that his funds amounted to $33.55-- as his account was assessed our $escheat fee - a fee described to him in the initial Escheat Letter which he, in fact, signed and returned to us.If you have any further questions regarding this matter please contact Nancy M***, Operations Manager at ###-###-#### or by e-mail at ***@energyfcu.org
