DEAR [redacted], I am writing this email in response to the complaint letter we received from you.  [redacted] came in to the liquor store on 5/31/16 and purchased $5.52 worth of liquor, we swiped his card as credit. the credit card company held a larger amount than the purchase price on the card....

some credit card companies do this to ensure that the card does not overdraw, but within 24 hours that amount is put back on the account. he made the purchase on 3/31/16 and noticed this and thought it was us, but the credit card processing is not us. he also received a receipt for his purchase, on which the amount was $5.52; that is the only amount we took. if you call him back, I assure you the money was put back into the account. thank you, [redacted]
