We went [redacted],s house, solve all complain.
Review: On March **, 2014 H&E Clocks ([redacted]) came to my house and gave me estimate to repair my Cuckoo Clock. He gave me a price of $400.00 to replace the existing movement with a new movement. I gave him $400.00 in cash and received a receipt. The repair will be guaranteed for one year. He returned the clock and clock never worked without a problem. The clock stopped working and he came to my house on June **, 2014 to pick up the clock. On Sepember **, 2014 he return the clock to my house (he had the clock over 2 months).
It was the say old story, the clock never worked without a problem. The clock stopped working again and called and I explained the problem on February *, 2015 and he said that would pick up the clock when he was in area. I called him back on Februry **, 2015 and he wanted to bring the clock to his store. I told that I have a problem with my eyes and that I cannot drive to his store. The reason why I used in the first place because he was going to pick clock at my house and return clock to my house when the repair was completed.Desired Settlement: He cannot repair this clock and I went a refund. The guaranted will expire on March **, 2015.

Review: We inherited my fathers grandfather clock. When we moved it from his place to mine, it wouldn't work. It worked fine before. My brother-in-law thought we lost a chain that held the pendulum. We made an appointment with this company to come to our house and see about ordering that part. When he came to the house, besides telling us that part was missing, he told us he would not order the part without taking the clock to his store. The repairs will be between $600 and $850 to repair and replace parts. We decided not to hire him and he charged us $65 for the visit. We paid the fee.
I called another repairman. He came to the house. He opened the clock. He showed me the part I thought was missing was there. It just came disconnected from the move. He attached the part and the clock works fine. He oiled some parts after.
This store is owned by crooks. I was lucky. It only cost me $65. I am sure many other people are being taken advantage. I am sure most people don't know what to do because there are very few people that repair these clocks.Desired Settlement: I would like this company to be closed since they are thieves. However, I realize this won't happen. Therefore, please figure out a way for the public to know about them.

Response:
In January 2012, [redacted] had set an appointment with H&E Clocks upon a promise that it will cost $65 for me to visit his house and give an estimate for the grandfather clock repair.
When I visited his house, what I found was that [redacted]’s Howard Miller grandfather clock was over 20 years old (and had never been serviced? With bad condition.) I do not remember since it was two years ago.
At that time, I recommended that [redacted]’s clock really needs complete repair with overhaul and cleaning or replace whole movement that is made in Germany. Both jobs guarantee one year and two years. This was my opinion from 40 years of clock business. However, [redacted] did not want either way; therefore I collected $65 for visiting and estimating.
There is nothing wrong with this because that was the deal we made.
More than two years later, he is saying a story that a clock repairman came and repaired clock paying only $65. I cannot believe that any clock repairman could simply repair a grandfather clock like that and just for $65. Is it guaranteed job?
My estimate for repair or replacing new movement, officially guarantee for at least one year and two years. But, it will last long lifetime just like a new clock as his father had over 20 years with new movement.
It is falsely accused that [redacted] is making a judgment with deficient information.
He called me crooks and thief, and he wants to close my business, and wants public to know about me.
H&E Clock has been serving Long Island and New York area for well over 40 years and earned strong reputation and connection with companies such as Howard Miller, Ridgeway, Schneider, Bulova, Seiko and many more clocks and watch company. We live by words of mouth and reputation.
I am upset that [redacted] is trying to damage my reputation. I believe [redacted] is a doctor who tries to cure his patients, and doctors need good reputation. If his patient says with deficient information that [redacted] is not a healing doctor but ‘a killing doctor’ and says he should shut down his office, do you think it is fair and just? How does [redacted] feel?
Since my reputation worth much more than $65, I want [redacted] to come to me, kneeling down, and ask for an apology with a promise that he will not damage my reputation.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
[Your Answer Here]First of all, I paid $125 to have the other repairman come to my house and service the clock. He showed me the unattached part. If you would like to contact him, I can give you his information. This way you are not getting my opinion, but an opinion from a professional clock repairman. Also, I did not tell the repairman that H&E clocks came to me until he was done. I still think he is a crook.

Response:
As I told you, there is nothing wrong with me charging $65 for visiting your house
because you accepted it when we made an appointment and it was the deal.
Now, your price has changed to $125 from $65. You paying $125 for the other repairman are other
story, and we do not care what others’ charged for your repair. My estimate
comes from 40 years of experience with full guarantee by H&E Clocks, using genuine
German parts.
I want to tell you again, my estimate was not temporary repair or just putting back an
unattached part. It was a complete repair estimate with full guarantee because
the clock was over 20 years old. $65 is not enough for my time and labor but
you are trying to take it from me. I think you are a crook and thief.
This is from over 2 years ago. Arguing is a waste of time. I do not want to respond or argue
anymore.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
[Your Answer Here]The reason for my complaint was not to collect my fee that I paid. The reason for my complaint was to inform the public of this businesses practice. They tried to rip me off. All they had to do was attach the link that came lose. Then I could have decided if I wanted to get maintenance service. That should have been done for his visit fee. He told me if the link was missing, it was included in the $65 fee. The link wasn't missing. Just needed to be attached. Like I said before, if you want the contact information of the person that corrected the problem, I will give you his information.
Thank You
