Gregory Forrest Lester is a very professional and experienced company. We are very pleased with their service and will continue to use them in the future for a variety of needs on our property. They have helped to educate us on how to best take care of the trees on our property. Their passion and enthusiasm for their work is evident.
I hired Gregory Forrest Lester to save my struggling Silver Maple. Oliver was awesome and very knowledgeable. They were fast to get me on the schedule. They treated the tree and removed the dead limbs. They were very careful not to damage my landscape and turf. I am happy to say my tree looks great. I would recommend this company to everyone!
This company is top notch. Very professional and on point. I was confronted with an emergency situation. A semi trailer backed into my 50 ft tall beautiful maple that had to come down. I needed someone who could as the damage to the tree, take it down if need be and also give an appraisal to the value of the tree. I found all of what I was needing with this company. They responded quickly. They did a great job and with the exception of the tree being gone I would have never known they were there. They cleaned up everything and left my yard looking great. Kevin was great to work with. A certified Master Arborist. He was very knowlegeable in this line of work and helped walk me through the whole process. All the guys were ready to help and very polite. Very professional company that knows what they're doing. I would recommend them without hesitation. Thanks for all your help.
We were very pleased with the prompt and courteous service. A certified master arborist met with us and made some recommendations based on the location and size of the area we planted. We were replacing a tree that died previously and had been cut down. The new tree which is about 10 ft tall is very healthy and we believe that it is a good investment.... trees are not cheap as we learned but with the cost the old tree's stump was ground, the new tree was planted and fed. I would recommend this company.
Gregory Forrest Lester, company and crew, were timely, professional, and an all-around pleasure to work with. Any obstacle that arose, they handled with ease. We live on a tiny dead-end street, with little room for passing traffic. The crew maneuvered around this obstacle, so cars could still pass and the neighborhood could carry on as usual.
While removing a tree from our front yard, they discovered a large bee hive. They went beyond their contracted work and reaching out to have the hive picked up/removed, and saved.
They left our yard tidy and prepped with grass seed. They were speedy, but careful... paying attention to every detail. I could not recommend them enough.
We’ve used Gregory Forrest Lester, Inc. for the last 15 years at two different properties and are consistently pleased with the results. They conduct their business with the utmost professionalism and follow through on their commitments. We appreciate that they are responsive to our calls and have good communication throughout the projects they work on. They are extremely knowledgeable and have helped us nurse a number of sick trees back to health. But we’ve also had a considerable amount of very large, dangerous trees that needed to come down. There is both an art and science to doing this type of work, which requires proper training, expertise and field experience. GFL charges a fair price for these skills they bring to their work. We know we can trust GFL to handle these large jobs safely, with the lease amount of disturbance to our property. We highly recommend this company as a result.
Removed our large mature oak that was extremely close to our home. Branches were causing issues. They also removed our Holly Berry tree in our front yard that was very close as well. Despite it being very wet from rain recently, you can barely see any evidence they were here minus the missing trees and the great job they did putting gravel where our old oak was. Would highly recommend, did great work at a reasonable price and in a very efficient manner! Got here around 7 and we're gone by 1! Very impressed.
We hired Gregory Forest Lester for removal of 5 trees. We’ve worked with them in the past and they have been excellent. However, we requested no trucks or construction equipment to be used in our backyard. We were told that was fine, no trucks would be used. The tree removal took place on March 23rd. The yard was covered in snow, but the ground was not frozen. We have huge ruts in our yard as a result of the equipment driven in our yard. Had the equipment not been used, as promised, our yard would not have sustained so much damage. All we want is to have the price reduced by $100.00 to pay to repair the yard and plant new grass.
I received a phone call from the business. Please close my complaint as resolved at this time.
Thank you,

Gregory Forrest Lester was one of 4 companies from which I got a price quote last summer (for removal of an 80ft ash tree near my home). Three of the price quotes were in the $1000 - $1500 price range while GFL's initial quote was $3500! After I voiced my dissatisfaction with that amount, he immediately dropped the quoted price to $2000. In addition, GFL's quote stated that there would be "lawn and plant disturbance" and that the price would not include "sweeping and raking."
I ultimately went with one of the other companies (with a $1000 quote), and they did an outstanding job. They did a complete clean-up and there was virtually no lawn or plant damage!
For anyone who gets a quote from Gregory Forrest Lester, I would highly recommend that you get an additional quote or two.
Mr. has never been a customer of Gregory Forrest Lester, Inc. We did not provide a paid service for him. He requested a free estimate from us, which we provided, but he did not have us do any work for him. He chose to use another company according to the review he submitted. We always make every effort to offer competitive pricing, but in some instances, other companies (that may not carry general liability and workers comp) bid much lower than we can because we carry the proper insurance.
I requested a quote on the removal of an ash tree in my backyard along with cutting back the trees from the front of the house and removal of the stumps in the backyard. The quote was left at my home and once I received it, I contacted Mr Lester. I told him in the quote there were 6 stumps noted but I only wanted the three black stumps ground out. He said okay and he just counted all of the stumps but it wasn't a problem. The quote also said there would be some lawn and plant disturbance. They came to my house and performed all of the work on October 12th. Once I arrived home, I noticed my yard was completely torn up and they grounded out all of the stumps in my yard along with a stump behind my yard that wasn't even on my property. I called their customer service number, was told Mary would call me back. She did but said that Greg Lester would have to call me back. I was very upset about the stumps being ground out and my yard being so torn up. Mr Lester was defensive, rude and absolutely certain that whatever was wrong with my yard was normal. He would not come out to look at it because he said his kid that was on the job is a certified arborist and there is no way he would have made a mess. I can understand some lawn disturbance but I am missing grass and have ruts in large spots all over my yard. There is very clearly a path where there are ruts and missing grass from their machine of which I have pictures, if needed. Mr Lester clearly doesn't understand how to treat his customers and how to listen to their complaints.

Re: Complaint#***, ***
Dear Ms. Prescott:
We sincerely apologize for grinding out 6 stumps instead of 3. Unfortunately, the quantity of stumps to be ground out was not adjusted on Ms.’s contract prior to our crew coming out to do the work. Due to our error, we will correct her bill and deduct $200.
On Ms.’s contract, it does note that there will be lawn and plant disturbance. We needed to bring a stump grinder and other machinery into the backyard, so it is impossible to avoid lawn disturbance. We make every effort to minimize the disturbance and also try to communicate it in writing for all of our customers. In most cases, the areas that were disturbed return to normal.
From Ms.’s description, the lawn disturbance may have been more severe. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this caused Ms.. We would be happy to deduct the amount for the grass seed that she needed to cover the affected areas as requested in her settlement request.
We will send a revised bill that shows the $200 adjustment and also the deducted amount for the grass seed.
Sincerely,
Jennifer H

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I will submit payment for $1,252.31. The grass was purchased at *** for $44.99 and with tax the total was $47.69. The $1,500 bill minus the $200 for the stumps minus the $47.69 = $1,252.31. I do not need another bill sent to me as suggested. I'll mail the payment on 11.2.17.
