Ms. [redacted] was seen in my office on Nov. 22, 2016.  At this time it was discovered Ms. [redacted] had been a previous patient in 2004.  Upon review of her account we noticed the account was turned over to collections in 2008.  Our records indicate one of Ms.  [redacted]'s insurance...

companies denied her claim.  We have no access to the insurance denial since this was twelve years ago, none the less the claim was denied.  As an office we always stress to patients any amount quoted is an estimate and anything not paid by the insurance company is the patient's responsibility.  It is a courtesy to submit claims for patients, some offices require payment in full up front.  It is then up to the patient to collect from their insurance company, this is how other dental offices avoid being blamed by patients when the insurance company does not pay.  Our records indicate prior to Ms. [redacted]'s account being turned over to collections we sent bills to the patient once a month for 4 years.  Our attempt to collect from the patient was unsuccessful.  Our collection practices are not the best I have to admit.  I have only sent patients to collections two times while I have been a practicing endodontist for 23 years.We offered to treat Ms. [redacted] if she paid her old balance and any amount owed for new services.  The patient refused and we recommended patient see another endodontist.  From the letter it seems the patient feels we are the only endodontist in town.  Ms. [redacted] is free to see any endodontist she would like.  Because this account was turned over to collections in 2008 we are no longer pursuing the account.  At this point, because of the patient's irrational behavior in contacting the Revdex.com I will not see this patient under any circumstances.If you have any questions please feel free to contact my office at [redacted].
