Dear Sirs,First let me clarify a few things. Firstly, the person involved did not purchase the tractor from us. It was used and was not under any type of warranty, as indicated on his Face book page. Secondly, there was not an appointment made for bay space for repair and no date was given...
for such. He was told we would get a mechanic to spend some time to evaluate the problem since many people who are not mechanics bring us equipment with a pre "diagnosis" that are completely incorrect. Our mechanics would never presume, this can be timely and costly. Expectations for immediate repair are na'ive considering the time of year and the fact that equipment is processed in the order that the work is received. Unfortunately all bays were full when the piece of equipment arrived. With tractors, bays may be held up for some time with tractors split waiting for parts. Mind you, this was dropped off on a Saturday when the back shop is closed and we are closed on Sunday as well. When the call came in about the tractor, it had already been pulled into a bay awaiting the start of the tear down for an accurate evaluation of the problem and a clear idea of the necessary parts for the repair. Damage could be small or catastrophic depending on what is found when taken apart. The tractor was pulled out of the bay at the customer's request just before actual work had started. The customer apparently came and loaded the tractor and left without coming into the building. The bill for the evaluation and the mechanics time had never been paid. This is considered theft of services. For insurance and security purposes, any piece of equipment that leaves our trust without release is considered stolen property and (or) services. The events that unfolded were unfortunate. We have given dedicated service for over 43 years in this community. Our services, however, are not free, and we do our best to get the work done as quickly as possible. It is a stressful time of year, however, there is no excuse to respond to customer rudeness in the manner that our employee did. We have taken all steps to ensure that the customer experience is satisfactory every day. Greenville Saw is not in business "to rip off' anyone. I believe the customer has already been refunded his money. I hope his expectation can be met elsewhere. Sincerely,Greenville Saw Service, Inc.
