Grant's tree service removed 3 trees and damaged (Cracked) my next door neighbors driveway by using a crane
On April 7, 2019, Grants tree service removed three trees from the side of my property. During the initial visit several days before the removal, the company's representative told me (during the estimate appointment) they would not use a crane to remove trees. when they did the tree removal, the same representative showed up and used a crane which he parked in my neighbors driveway with out permission. The crane was loaded with huge logs from a previous job when it got to my house. The weight of the truck, additional logs on it and the weight of the trees they were removing caused the concrete driveway to crack. I showed the representative (Frank) the damage and he told me they would fix the cracks. After several phone calls and missed appointments to do this work, Frank finally showed up and put crack filler into the cracks. It cracked by the next day. Over the next several weeks and many phone calls, Frank finally came back and added more concrete patch over what he had used originally. The next day it cracked again. I have called them twice over the last 2 days, with no response from Grants tree service. The cracks are not surface cracks, the cracks go all the way through the concrete slab. The cracks are numerous and the attempts to repair the damage have not come close to fixing the problem. I have photos of the damage and the crane used to remove the trees, loaded with large sections of trees from other jobs.
Since the surface repairs have not worked and look horrible, I am asking that Grants Tree Service remove and replace the damage concrete section of the driveway

Ms. Evelyn
In regards to Mr. Joseph's complaint.
"We are very confused and deeply saddened by this complaint. Our jobs is to please, and for 35+ years we have been doing just that. This complaint confuses us so as we have been in constant communications, before his trip, with Mr. Joseph and we have been more than willing to correct the area damaged by one of our vehicles. There have been three attempts to remedy the matter. Our crew chief has been out twice to make repairs and attempted a third; however, Mr. Joseph was not in town. On that third attempt, our crew chief phoned Mr. Joseph who said he was out of town and he would call him back when he returned." We did not receive a called back from Mr. Joseph, as we have no messages to say otherwise. We were given permission; by Mr. Joseph, to use his neighbor's driveway for our vehicles to complete his service request. After our initial fix of the driveway, we informed Mr. Joseph that no one could drive on or access the driveway for at least 24-hours because the sealer we were putting on it needed said amount of time to cure and it was per packing instruction. Again, we informed Mr. Joseph that driving on a piece of concrete that isn't completely dry and settled will continue to cause damage. The next morning, Mr. Joseph called our crew chief and he, himself, informed us, "the cracks came back. (His neighbors) drove on (the driveway) this morning and the cracks came back." 24-hours hadn't passed before they drove on the driveway as required, and thus the damage created from their vehicle. Nevertheless, even after his neighbors drove on the driveway, and when he called, we were still willing to come back out and correct it once again, for him (this being the second visit). We strongly wish to resolve this matter to everyone's statisfaction. Ms. Evelyn, we are more than happy to sit down and discuss, further, this matter with Mr. Joseph and yourself. The driveway was indeed fixed, the neighbor unfortunately drove on the driveway before it was completely cured and settled, we were still willing to go back out and fix it once again, and we are not sure what else we can do as we did fix what was wrong. We appreciate your assistance and allowing us to address the complaint of Mr. Joseph."
If you have any questions, please give me a call at 407-***. Thank you for your time and your diligent assistance with the matter. Happy Fun Day Monday!

First of all my last name is Josiah not Joseph, at least take the time to get your customers name correct.
Second: after the first attempt to repair the driveway, the crew chief (Frank), by his own admission, never said anything about not driving on the repairs. also by Frank's own admission, he fixed surface cracks when the cracks were in fact cracks that went all the way through the concrete.
The second attempt to fix the cracks were again a repair of surface cracks and Frank told me he did not know if the repairs would hold. My neighbors did not drive on the driveway for 36 hours, but yet still cracked as soon as they drove onto the driveway. Third: I did call Frank when I returned from vacation on Monday, June 1. Frank told me he would be here that day around 5:00 PM and said he was going to cut the broken concrete pieces all the way through at an angle and pour concrete into the voids. Once again, He never showed up and I have not heard anything from him or Grants tree service since. For a company that says they care so much about customer service, they are sadly lacking in anything close. Grants Tree Service was never given permission to pull a crane into my neighbors driveway and they did despite Frank telling me that was not going to use a crane when he gave me a proposal. Additionally, This crane was fully loaded with huge pieces of tree trunks cut at another job, so the weight was even worse than just the crane. Grants poor response has put me in difficult position with my neighbor. All I want is for this company to do the right thing and repair the driveway that they damaged.

Frank did in fact meet with my neighbor and I and we did reach an agreement, but it was not what Mr Grant stared in his response. Frank agree to pay 65% of the repair and my neighbor and I would pay the other 35%. This was agree to with my neighbor in attendance at the meeting with Frank.. I have submitted two quotes to Grants Tree Service for the removal and replacement of the damaged concrete section that was damaged by Grants Tree Service. Mr Grant's response to my complaint states the agreement was a 60/40 split. This is not what we agreed to. I have not had a response from Grants Tree Service since submitting the repair quotes on Friday, June 21, 2019.
Yes, 35/65 is correct. We have received the quotes. Frank will be in contact with Mr. Josiah regarding the repairs.
