Review: My company booked 3 rooms for 2 nights. The rooms were uninhabitable and my team refused to spend the night. I tried contacting the Staff immediately but they were unreachable until the next morning. WHen I finally did speak with someone, they vehemently refused to provide a refund and do the right thing. I DO NOT promote anyone stayng at this location!!Desired Settlement: I want a refund but am going to handle it with my Credit Card provider. ([redacted])
Review: I booked a hotel through [redacted] for 11/22/2014.
I have booked
with [redacted] numerous times over the past eight years and have
never had an issue with any hotels I've stayed in. My husband and
I took out two children, ages 2 and 6, to the Grantmoor Motor
Lodge, thinking that it would be like every other normal hotel
we've booked through [redacted]. It was a two hour drive. However,
this was not the case. The Grantmoor Motor Lodge was basically an
"adult only" type of hotel. When we brought our luggage in the
room we noticed that this hotel was completely disgusting. The
carpets were not vacuumed, there were weird substances all over
the furniture and the mirrors and as soon as my children turned on
the television, [redacted] was instantly playing on the screen. I went
into the bathroom to find no hand soap at all and the toilet had
not been cleaned. I then went to look at the bed and inside the
sheets were long black hairs in every layer of bedding. I wouldn't
even let my children take there socks off because the floor was
dirty and sticky. I opened one of the dresser drawers and realized
that the dresser was completely broken and the drawers had no
bottoms. I immediately called [redacted] and was forwarded to an
agent a [redacted]. I notified her of the room's condition and
she said she could possibly more my family to another hotel close
by. She then came back to tell me that the hotel was refusing to
refund my room and that if I wanted to switch motels, I would have
to pay again. At this point, it was 6 p.m. and my family and I had
plans for 7 p.m. We did not have the time to book another hotel
and my [redacted] was about to die, so I was basically stuck with no
options. I decided that my family and I would have to cancel our
plans and just go home, so I went to the front desk and politely
asked for a refund. The representative told me that he would not
refund me but could move me to a different room. I explained to
him that I lived two hours away, just drove here with a 2 year old
baby and requested for a room that was not used for sexual
purposes and that would be clean and sanitary. I quickly chose a
room that seemed decent and asked for new bedding because there
were hairs under the comforter again. I then requested that
someone vacuum and clean the bathroom for my children and instead
of sending someone to clean, the representative knocked on the
door and handle me a bottle of orange cleaner; with no paper
towels or sponges. After looking at a number of horrifying rooms,
I found one that seemed okay. My husband and I threw our luggage
in the new room and left the hotel for our 7 p.m. plans. When we
got back to the hotel we realized that although the new room
seemed clean for the 3-5 minutes we were in it previously; it was
not clean at all and the bath tub was broken. I went to the front
desk and a different man was behind the counter. He explained to
me that I had already seen several rooms and was annoyed that I
was asking to switch again. I looked at a few rooms and every
single one smelt of smoke, was not clean and had mirrors on the
ceilings. I couldn't imagine driving home 2 hours that late at
night, so I chose one of the rooms that seemed to be livable.
However, yet again... I was wrong. The new bedding given to me had
an enormous, red stain on the comforter and the pillows were
stained and brownish-yellow. There were splotches all over the
mirrors, the shower was filthy, the walls had stains on them, the
rugs weren't vacuumed, there was a stain on the mattress itself
and blood on the floor and mirror. There was no hand soap in the
bathroom. There was a tray in the room with complimentary plastic
cups on it; the tray was covered in cigarette burns and a sticky
substance. I went to [redacted] and purchased paper towels, hand soap, [redacted], bathroom cleaner, tooth paste and [redacted]. I got back to the
hotel after midnight and spent an hour cleaning and sanitizing the
hotel room. Even after scrubbing the shower, I still did not feel
comfortable having my family shower in there and we did not use
the shower during our stay. My family and I had plans to spend our
Sunday in Connecticut and were not even able to shower beforehand
because of this gruesome hotel. I am beyond mad at this point and
deserve a refund plus compensation for the times wasted, stress,
and all of the cleaning supplies I had to purchase. I had to lug
my items from room to room and then was expected to clean the room
myself; it is absurd.Desired Settlement: I would like to be fully refunded plus compensation for stress, time and products I had to buy to clean and sanitize the hotel room.
