I consigned a wardrobe with the Mercantile. It sold in August of 2018 but I never received notice that it sold. After visiting the store months later and seeing it was gone, I inquired in person about when I would receive the check for approximately $200.
They claimed they had already sent the check, but I never received it. I asked for them to cancel/void the original check and issue a new one. Garrison is the manager I talked to. He contacted the owner and asked her to do so in November. In December I called again because we still hadn't received the check. He sent her another email asking to issue the check I never received. I've called 4 times, and it's now February and I haven't received the money I am owed for my wardrobe that sold in August.
We just received a notice that you have filed a complaint with the Revdex.com. We are very sorry that you felt it necessary to file this complaint. Garrison L our previous General Manager, was apparently dealing with your issue and after reviewing all communications, it was not handled well from start to finish. Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience that this has caused for you.
We have written two checks to you for the August 2018 sale of the armoire. The first check was generated from the regular check run at the end of August. This was ck #*** issued on 8/31/18 and sent to the address in our system which was:
Kristina S ***
Garrison notified me in early October that you had called to tell us that you had not received the check for the sale of the armoire. He informed me that a replacement should be sent to the address stated above. It appears from the address on your complaint that this was not the correct address. Apparently, you must have moved at some point during the consignment and for some reason we did not update your address to the *** location.
I stopped payment on the first check and issued check # *** on 10/14/18. That check is still valid, but it appears that you never received this one either due to it being sent to the *** address. It is still showing as pending on our books.
I am more than happy to stop payment on this check also and cut a third one, but I am not comfortable mailing it to you. I would be happy to have one of our associates deliver it to your home whenever it would be convenient for you or you can pick it up at the store anytime after noon tomorrow. I have also directed our new General Manager, Rusty B, to issue you a $100 Gift Card which will be included with the new check.
I fully understand your frustration and I am terribly sorry about your experience. Please let me know what would be more convenient for you as far as getting the re-issued check. You can call or text me at ***-xxxx (my private cell phone) or simply respond to this email.
Sincerely – Sharon O’
Revdex.com:
I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find the resolution is satisfactory to me. I feel the company actually went above and beyond the request, and I am completely satisfied. It seemed to be a series of miscommunications and some mismanagement, which has since been handled.
