Grand Master Services

Review: We found Grand Master Services, aka Grand Master Home Services, on Craigslist and contacted the owner, [redacted], **., who also goes by **. He showed up at our office, took notes on the type of work we wanted done, and within hours, sent an estimate for materials and labor. He picked up a deposit check, saying he needed it to buy the materials, that same day, which was cashed by the end of the same business day, and promised to show up the next day. ** never showed up the following day. After numerous calls to **, he was at our office with another handyman he found on Craigslist. ** let him know what type of work was to be done, the handyman started and ** left. The next day, the other handyman again showed up, but no **. At that point, the other handyman would not do anymore work because ** had not paid him. After numerous emails and voice mails left on his phone (we later found out the phone belonged to a friend of his, he showed up and requested another check to pick up additional materials. We denied the request and he never showed up again. On May 8, 2013, an email was sent to him to let him know we were going to file a complaint with the Revdex.com and if he wanted to discuss the issue, he could contact us; never heard back.Desired Settlement: We would like **, aka [redacted], **., aka Grand Master Services, aka Grand Master Home Services, to give our deposit money back as he has NEVER purchased materials with the money we gave as a deposit and has NEVER done ANY work for us. Basically, he took our money and ran. The other handyman did not get paid for the work that ** asked him to begin.
