Graley's Auto Repair completed an engine replacement for *** *** on December 5, in his Ford F- The customer received a used engine replacement to include a new oil filter, fluids, and spark plugs The warranty was a six month warranty ONLY on the engine and the parts
mentioned, as was noted on the receipt signed by the customer The customer volunteered the information that the transmission was also in need of repair on the day we were towing the truck to our shop We would have been happy to replace the transmission also, but the customer did not have the funds available at that time Also, the exhaust had been tampered with and was still attached to a motor in the bed of the customer’s truck Following the motor installation, we simply attached the exhaust as it was to the motor we installed Any exhaust issues are also the responsibility of the customer Knowing this, the customer was advised not to drive the vehicle until the transmission had been repaired.Against our advice, the customer drove the truck from our shop with the faulty transmission and attempted to drive at highway speed Not surprisingly, the transmission failed and heated itself enough to weld itself together This prevented the motor from turning over At our expense, we picked up the truck and towed it back to our shopWe separated the motor from the transmission, and verified that the motor is not the issue with the truck In short, exactly what we told *** *** would happen, did.The customer's vehicle had many issues in addition to the ones addressed by Graley's Auto Though unfortunate, issues beyond the scope of our work are not the responsibility of Graley's Auto RepairThank you, *** *** *** Graley's Auto Repair
