Review: May 27, 2014On May 9th, 2014 I purchased from the Milford, CT, Goodwill retail store a handbag. The handbag was in their locked cabinet where all their higher-end merchandise is stored. One needs to ask for assistance so the clerk can unlock the cabinet to show an item that is stored within. I asked to see what looked like a [redacted] black leather handbag with the ** logo hanging off the bag. The clerk showed me the bag. It looked brand new with the plastic wrap around the handles and lots of tissue paper contained within the bag. The price of the bag was $75.00 and the clerk referred to the bag as a new beautiful [redacted] bag. I hesitated at first to make the purchase but I thought that for an authentic [redacted] bag new in its packing materials for $75.00 it was worth it. The clerk took the bag to the register to hold until I was ready to pay for it not allowing me much time to look over the bag but to believe it was an authentic [redacted].I made the purchase and left for home. When I arrived home, I was terribly disappointed in the bag as it was made in China and when I removed the plastic that was covering the handles it is truly apparent that the bag is not made of leather and was never sewn properly as would a [redacted] bag would have been. I feel that the store should have known it was carrying a knock-off or a fake bag and should have never placed such a bag in their high-end merchandise cabinet with a price of $75.00 they had to of known that this was a knock-off. They would not let me take off the plastic covering as well. It is illegal to sell a knock off or fake bag even at Goodwill! I called the store and they told me that they only give returns for electronics which I did not know as it was not posted anywhere nor would I have asked all stores have a return policy and should without a question take back a knock-off that they were selling as an originalDesired Settlement: I would like the amount of money paid for this illegal bag returned as well as my travel expense and time wasted going from one Goodwill store to another. Total: $71.00 Bag price, Plus 120 miles traveled X .50 per mile =$66.00 Plus my time wasted $100. Total $237.00
