I contacted this business via its website early Monday morning, requesting an estimate for gutter cleaning of my homeAfter two days I called the company and talked to *** (wife/co-owner) and asked about getting the work done, as I do not have a ladder tall enough to get to the second storyThe work was scheduled for the next day, so long as it did not rainI called around 10:am the next morning to ask whether they had a start time for the work so I could be there and provide payment *** stated she would call the crew and call me right backApproximately minutes later she called back to tell me the crew had "drove by" the house and were not able to do the job because it was "too steep" for themI asked for further explanation and she told me that the "were behind due to the previous rain" over the last couple of days and that the roof was "too steep to get to." This is a ridiculous excuse for turning down work, just because you are behindTo me it sounds as if the crew just wanted to move on to another more profitable jobThe fact that it had rained was already discussed with ***, and as I told her I have had several contractors on my roof before, including gutter cleaners, so the reason for turning down the job was invalidI guess the lesson from this is that unless the company is hurting for business, or unless you have a very big and profitable job, then don't bother calling
