They didn't ask permission to order parts for our RV. We called to ask and they told us the wrong price and then charged double when we picked it up.
We dropped our camper off after memorial weekend due to the slide not working proper. We didn't hear from them for over 2 weeks so we called to ask the status. They ordered a new motor for the slide without our permission and then told us, when we called, the motor was $300. We didn't hear from them for a week after that. We had to call again to check the status, in which they told us it was done and ready to be picked up but the motor was more than expected, over $600 rather than $300 they originally told us. They not only ordered the part without our permission, they fixed it, knowing the price was way more than they had told us which basically trapped us into paying. The owner specifically told my husband it was his fault due to a different manufacturer for the parts. He admitted it was his fault, but still charged us the full amount. We never agreed on a $600 part. We were never given the chance to agree because they never called us. When we called them, we did agree on the $300 but when the part came in at more than they expected (over double the amount they told us), they continued to fix the RV, rather than being a professional business and doing the right thing to call and ask permission knowing that the part was more money. We feel as if they trapped us into paying because they fixed the camper without telling us the price of the part and the owner even admitted and said it was his fault. We went to pick the camper up on 26 June 2020 and were told that even though it was an error on their part, we still had to pay.
I wish to pay the original $300 in which was agreed upon for the part. They should have told us the correct amount from the beginning.
I called good time rv last week and made an appointment to get my fifth wheel resealed and recaulked. This was after my friend called and got $150-200 quote over the phone. They gave me the same quote of no more than $200 and told me it would only take a couple hours, so I made an appointment for Wednesday morning, July 3rd, around 9am to drop of my rig. I dropped it off, got a ticket, and came back to my friends house to wait. At 2:30, I called to inquire when it would be ready, and was told it was, they just got finished right before it poured rain and they were letting it cure a bit but they we just getting ready to call me. I was also told, after asking, that my windows and everything were resealed. When she transferred me to Robert, the owner, he told me that they were not. I asked why and was told they don't waste product on things that didnt need resealed. I wasnt told this when I made appointment OR when I had just previously talked to the woman who answered the phone, and 3 of my windows leak. I went and picked up my rig, my quote of less than $200 turned into $411. $330 of the cost was labor, and Robert the owner said it was because they had to remove flex seal tape first. I paid it, as I didn't feel I had a choice if I wanted my camper, (my home), back. When I got back to my friends house to park my rig, I told her what happened. I also went up on my roof to inspect their work. They had NOT removed the tape, but squirted a mess of sealant around it. My roof was not resealed. The old caulk was not removed, and only some was gone over. The main seam in front wasn't even touched, and that's where my leak was coming from. When I called to ask why wasn't the job and price matching what I was quoted and I was called, in so many words, a liar. Apparently his daughter is the one that quoted me and, "she would never tell me that." I'm extremely offended and disappointed as I sought them out and paid them for a service I was lied to about receiving. They're the only rv repair for miles.
Product_Or_Service: Recaulk and reseal fifth wheel
No settlement requested - for I already called my bank and they are disputing the charge on my credit card, which was $300. I had to use my debit card to pay the remaining balance of $111. I think them keeping that amount is fair for the job done. Im not an unfair or unreasonable person. Or a liar.
