EARLY 2015, Elderly mom wanted a gold necklace melted into a nugget. Brought the necklace,marked 14K, to GG and owner verified 14K. He took the necklace and gave a return date of 2 weeks to pickup the "nugget". Special instructions-the metal would weigh slightly less from the melting.

MOVE FORWARD TO FALL 2015-Mom's nugget has changed colors-purple, green and blue-no longer shiny. Another "gold shop" shows nugget now 12K, and concern about the different colors. Back to GG, owner verifies that metal is between 10 and 14K. We asked why mom's nugget is discolored, and owner states-the metal is a conglomeration of gold metals, jewelry,dental etc. We brought one necklace for melting, not a variety of metals.

OWNER TAKE-I melt what you bring to me, it wasn't my jewelry.

MY THOUGHTS-Per his special instructions-the metal becomes less in weight with melting, but the metal does not change from 14K to 12K!!! Mom did not get a nugget from the necklace that was given for melting-dishonesty, maybe??? Or did someone else got mom's nugget-poor office practices when handling other's possessions??? Or whatever???

MOM DIDN'T GET THE SERVICE THAT SHE SHE PAID FOR. When we told our experience to the owner, he became angry. I told my mom I would post my experience online. Owner became aggressive, stating we were slandering his reputation, and followed my mom and I to my vehicle-shouting-give me your name, only returning to his store when I took out my camera to picture his behavior.
