Review: On 10/29/12 I ordered SOD # 1 Fescue Tall & SOIL for my front yard from Grand Valley Supply located

@ 26701 S. Lammers Road Tracy CA. I got the right order, nice SOD. Only small parts of SOD died.

But on January 7, 2013 I placed my ordered for another SOD/SOIL for my backyard, in the phone

conversation I agreed to have Soft Fescue Tall #1 ( same as the first one that we ordered) for my

backyard . The SOD was delivered rolled and I did not immediately inspect it. At the time of installation. I noticed that the SOD has a lot of gravel & sand. It's very dirty. Also the soil that was delivered had stool of dog ( pooh) noted. When I looked at the receipt, I realized that it was not kind of SOD I had agreed over the phone. I contacted the Golden Valley by phone and spoke with the owner [redacted] calling his attention the mistake. His excuses was that he is not the one who received the order, he said he was in hawaii at that time. He came to my residence same day and inspected the SOD showing him a lot of gravel & sand. He said the SOD needed water, I told him I watered everyday and sprinkler are working. I even hired a contractor to check my sprinkler and told me my sprinkler are heavy duty and that's enough to water the SOD. He gave me discount for the SOD for $150.00 and I have 1 year warranty of the SOD if it die they will change it.

On 7/2/13 I called the company expressing my concerns about the SOD most of the parts are dying , lady said he will let the owner to call me back. But he didn't call back. On 7/8/ 13 I called him back again, speak with the owner informing him about the SOD half of the area are dying He cut our conversation stated he has a customer. On afternoon I went to his office to talk to him Personally about my concerns, he said he's not sure if they will replace the SOD. He also said he will come to house to see

the SOD that are dying. He failed to come to my house . So I was force to file a complaint

My issues here:

1. he did not follow my order.

2. Most SOD are reject.

3. SOIL that was delivered had stool of dog.

4. warranty

Desired Settlement: per company SOD had 1 year warranty. So they need to replace dead SOD.

Sod in front yard is different,she signed and has copy of sod to be delivered. If sod is not install day of delivery it will dry out,powder from dirt will be on sod.As for dog matter in material this is news to me.I went to her home to inspect the sod,sod was dry in different locations (lack of water) this will cause sod to die. She was told to water all sod and get back to me in two weeks. The install of sod was not done properly,she told me she fired the installer.She was refunded $150.00 plus $84.24 in materials delivered to her home. Sod has a one year guarantee,if proper ground preparation,installation,watering and care were applied. I have hired someone who can do the repairs for her,and her watering system.The work will be done week of 11/18/13 I have done everything in a professinal manner we are customer service orientated company. We have done everything possible to solve this situation.
