Golden Gate Motel

I have booked a room here for 4 nights I paid $250 and I have been in the room for 30 minutes I have not touched anything in the room not used any beds no towels room is still clean basically still a check out and clean I went to the office removed everything out of the room and told them that I wanted to change hotels the office told me they cannot give me my money back but I paid for four nights that's $250 and I have been in the room 30 minutes but they say that they cannot give me my money back is this illegal because I do believe that it is I need my money
