Gold Coast Power washing was hired by my company as a subcontractor. We come to find out during a recent insurance audit the owner of Gold Coast has provided us with a fake certificate of insurance. This has been confirmed by his previous insurance brokerage. Gold Coast had expired insurance and basically doctored up a certificate of insurance for us that made it look like they still had insurance. We would never be the wiser unless we had to file a claim or we had an audit. Now that we had the audit we are on the hook for the premium payment to our own carrier for his work and lack of insurance. Be aware of this scam if you hire. Call and verify his insurance first!!!
