My PCP diagnosed me with a blood clot in my left knee. And put me on blood thinners.

I originally scheduled surgery with this place with one doctor and Goals changed it to another doctor to about a week before which I couldn't make it to. They rescheduled without my consent. Then they rescheduled to 3 days after my original date with another doctor. 2 days before surgery they check my blood pressure and weight. Everything was good. The day of surgery they had a huge commotion with police in the actually surgery center. They said they cannot perform surgery due to "health reasons" which they already verified on their own beforehand. They asked me to reschedule once again which I could not due to work. When I asked for a refund on the phone, through email and in person they refused. I paid $500 for consultation, $6000 for surgery and $1300 for post surgery massages.

Goals Plastic Surgery Response • Dec 26, 2019

's outline is partially accurate.

First, as to the changing of doctors, this is explicitly permitted pursuant to the contract that *** signed.

Second, as to the alleged cancellation - this is inaccurate. ***'s surgery was postponed due to her high blood pressure at the time. She does not qualify for a "refund." Rather, she was advised that she needs to take the medicine required to control her heart rate/pressure and will be rescheduled thereafter. However, *** was not satisfied with complying with her contract and, instead, on October , 2019, went to Goals' office demanding a refund with her boyfriend who refused to leave the office.

*** must take her medicine and reschedule accordingly.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The contract does not say anything about a change of doctors. Moreover, if the health problems they claim were actually an issue why wasn't it addressed before I was cleared for surgery 2 days prior. Instead they waited until the day of surgery to suddenly cancel. Lastly, their statement of my boyfriend and I refusing to leave is false and I have a video to prove it. This is false and irrelevant information which is a clear sign of their intentions towards the consumers.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Unfortunately, we are constrained to provide a copy of the contract. As it clearly indicates, the "surgeon [] may be changed at Goals' discretion."

Further, the procedure was cancelled due to the high heart rate. Goals remains ready, willing, and able to perform the surgery should her heart be low enough to make this procedure safe.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:Goals' written contract is very vague. They are using evasive tactics to avoid the main concern of refunding the money. A medical doctor did not sit down with me in person before or during the signing of this contract. The only time I saw a doctor was after signing the contract on the day of surgery, after everything was paid. Their "consultation" was just a representative who has no medical background and was not equipped to answer what "medical condition" would qualify for a refund. This means they can use any reason to change surgery date or doctors whenever they please and not honor a refund. The representative was very misleading as is their contract and ways of performing business. Last but not least, they refused to get me in contact to whoever is authorized to give refunds and I was not referred back to any of their doctors to explain the situation as any other medical department would when it comes to a medical condition.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

My surgery with Goals was cxld after payment was made in full due to low Hemoglobin results from my blood work. Goals' contract clearly states that a refund minus a non refundable $500 deposit will be issues if surgery is cxld for a medical reason. After numerous attempts to contact Goals & the owner, the company went dark & would not respond to emails or phone calls when I requested a refund less the deposit. I went to their office to get my money back & they refused to issue stating a letter from my physician confirming I was not a candidate for surgery would be required for a refund. My Physician performed additional blood testing which confirmed these results & I notified goals with a copy of the blood work & Physicians letter via email & regular mail & they still refused to refund me. They charged me $370 for medical supplies, which they never gave me & lied to Chase when I tried to dispute the charge saying that they did give me the supplies when they clearly say supplies are given to you the day of surgery, but they must be paid for in advance.

Goals Plastic Surgery Response • Dec 26, 2019

Unfortunately, the facts are not correctly related to the Revdex.com. On November , 2019, ***'s PCP provided a letter saying that she was suffering from an iron deficiency and could not have surgery at that time. Thereafter, Goals advised *** on November , 2019 that her surgery would have to be delayed and not refunded at that time. She had to have her laboratory tests repeated in two months from that date. Five days thereafter, *** was advised to repeat here CBC and A1C in three months and continue to take iron. Goals continued to try to contact *** from that point forward without response.

At this juncture, *** is in a technical default of her contract.

Notwithstanding, Goals is awaiting ***'s retesting in approximately 1.5 months to reschedule her surgery. Goals is prepared to perform the surgery after clearance and compliance with the medical directions provided to *** regarding her Anemia.

Customer Response • Dec 26, 2019

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Per the contract I signed & attached, it states that if the surgery is cxld for a Medical reason I would be refunded the payment less $500. Nowhere in Goals' contract does it state that you have 3 attempts to correct a Medical issue & that surgery can be re-scheduled. That is a caveat that goals added verbally when I went to their office after they did not respond to my emails. At that time Damitra said a letter from my physician confirming I could not have surgery would also be required in order for human resources to now "determine" the refund. I provided the Physician letter the following week along with outside lab testing confirming I could not have surgery & after emailing the information to Damitra, she never responded to me. Goals cxld my surgery 2 days after we scheduled & Payment was made in full! My attempts to contact Goals to resolve this was unsuccessful as they did not respond to a single email, nor did the owner/physician respond to the letter I mailed him certified via UPS. I have documentation of all the emails sent to Goals & everytime I called them, I only got to speak with the service center who said my call would be returned. I finally spoke to a woman named Beverly who told me she had been on vacation for 2 weeks & would get back to me & after that I never heard from anyone. I called & texted my patient coordinator Maisah at & no response. Emails to her also went unanswered. In addition I paid $370 in Medical supplies that Goals never gave me & lied to Chase bank saying I received. How is that possible when you tell clients you receive the supplies the day of surgery. There was never any surgery, so they do not have the right to keep that money without giving me what I paid for. I have full documentation of all my attempts to resolve this matter with Goals's staff & the owner & they never attempted to resolve this. How am I supposed to re-schedule a surgery if I cant even get you folks on the phone after you've taken my money! You cant provide me with any guarantees that you would even still be in business IF my medical condition improved in the future.

My patient coordinator told me to fly in a day or 2 before my pre op so I left Nov *** I traveled from Kentucky to their establishment in New York my surgery was scheduled for Dec *** they called me less than 24 hours before my surgery telling me it was canceled & moved to Sunday not even informing me that it would be a different doctor preforming my surgery since my surgery date was unexpectedly pushed back that cut into my after care I was supposed to have 10 massages but since they moved my surgery to Sunday I would only be able to do 3 cause I’m coming from Louisville Kentucky & had a flight to catch early Wednesday now they don’t want to refund me the money for the 7 massages that I paid for but can no longer get instead there tryna make me use it as a credit in the future and I would just like my money back instead I don’t plan on doing any future procedures with this company

I came in with a signed doctors note the first week of October to cancel my surgery. The woman from billing cancelled my surgery and kept the letter and said I should be getting a phone call when the surgeon confirm the information. I waited two weeks, no phone call. So I go in person to ask what happened and another girl from billing and they “lost” the doctor’s note and asked if I can get another one . I agree and went back to my doctor to get the letter then I went back to goals with the letter then ANOTHER girl from billing says it has to be stamped. I agreed I went back to get it stamped. This is the third time of me going back and forth . I went the forth time to bring the letter STAMPED and they say the same thing that I should get a phone call confirming the information on the letter. I been waiting three weeks now and haven’t heard anything about my refund. I started this process early October now it’s mid December.

I made a down payment of $4000 for a cosmetic procedure to Goals Plastic surgery who has 2 locations one in Harlem, NY and I that recently opened downtown Brooklyn, NY.

I made this payment back in March 2019 and at that time I was fine physically to get the procedure done but around June/July I started getting server pain in my gluteal area that I was unable to sit, lay down, or sit in a car. I was referred to a orthopedic surgeon and after having an Xray, MRI, CT-Scan they were unable to find the issue.
The orthopedic surgeon then referred me to a pain management doctor and the pain management doctor advised he will start giving me a back injection to see if that causes some relief.
I emailed the Goals plastic surgery to find out my options and I was I formed the deposit is held for one year and I would need a medical note from the provider advising that I am not able to have the procedure done.
After my injection I have some relief and the pain management doctor gave me a note advising against any type of procedure to my gluteal area.
I sent this note via email to goals plastic surgery on 10//2019. They gave me the run around for an entire month and today I received an email from one of their staff advising me that the note is not enough and I MUST get the cosmetic procedure done or I will lose my deposit.
I just want my money back because I will not go against my pain management provider just because this place does not want to give me back my money.
I feel the response I got basically is saying they don't care what I'm suffering from I must have the procedure or they will keep my money.
I have a paper trail of everything, I still have my medical note, and I have their contract that clearly states I will be able to get a refund based on medical necessity.

I was informed to day that I would have to get this procedure done regardless of the note advising me that I shouldn't.

The night before I decided that I did not want to go through with my procedure. I understand that I would lose my deposit, but I also purchased a post op package that I will not be using. It consists of garments and massages. I will not be receiving any massages or utilizing any of the after products. I paid $1,450 and I would like that money refunded. The company stated that they would not return the money and I believe that is unfair since I will not using any of their services.

While it is understood that *** is not receiving the post-surgical procedure, consistent with the terms of the agreement, she would be responsible for the entire amount of her surgery - $8,500.00 - due to the last minute cancellation. Goals has waived $6,550.00 of the amount to which it is entitled under the Contract and, therefore, is without a reason to reimburse any further amount.

I am constantly being given the round around about my money. Goals can not locate my files nor know my name or anything for that matter. It has be four mouths and I have not received any contact back, no phone calls nor email. This is extremely unprofessional and I would like a refund on my money. An employee by the name of Patty informed me she contacted them repeatedly, email her supervisor regarding the issue. She also stated she would verify everything I’m stating if needed.

This issue is regarding a cosmetic surgery I had a contract for and scheduled on August ***, 2019. I am going to just copy and paste one of the many emails I have sent to this business, this email explains the entire experience I had with them. I have been emailing and calling for going on 2 months now and not one person in charge has contacted me, not has anyone responded to my last two emails that were sent a week and a half ago.

Fw: I have been calling and cannot get through to the office. No one has responded to my email (I only have yours and ***’s email address) and no one has returned my call after being hung up on repeatedly. I have paid you (goals) $8,350 for the surgery that was supposed to happen on Friday August ***. I was told I had to stay at a hotel for at least 5 days following surgery, I paid $818 for a hotel. Showed up to my surgery an hour and 15minutes early (I was notified the day before that surgery time was moved from 8am to 6pm) I arrived at 4:45pm. Dr. P did not show up until around 6:30pm and he had a patient before me who’s surgery was at 4. So by the time they brought me back and I was ready to ask him questions (which I was told I would have time to see him and go over any remaining questions before surgery, I was told this several times by several different people as I made it adamant that I wanted to talk to the doctor that I have not met yet and go over what I wanted.) I even asked the nurse who was there that night (Judy) a few questions and when I said I had a few more, she said “the doctor is here now you can finish asking your questions when you go back.” I took the medications and went back for surgery and when I asked to grab my phone for the remaining questions that I had he got frustrated and said something along the lines of common we don’t have time for this. So already I’m feeling rushed, however he proceeded to answer four questions of mine which I quickly asked because he was rushing me (the next day he tried to make it seem as if I had a ton of questions and said “it took 10 mins to get through your questions” which is just not true, I have the questions on a check list and had only asked him four questions which were answered in less than 5 minutes) I then tried to explain what I wanted while he marked me up for surgery. When I asked to see the markings he said “why they’re already on there” and then called off the surgery saying it sounds like you need a consultation and I said no I do not because you just answered my questions and I just wanted to see where you marked me. He proceeded to storm out of the room. He talked to my mom saying I could get a refund or possibly get in tomorrow. Then wouldn't even see me and walked out the back without saying a word to anyone because I was asking to see him again and the nurses didn’t know where he was and said he may have left out the back.

I went into the office the next day still in shock that I just spent all this money to stay down here at a hotel and this doctor turns me away because I had a few questions and wanted to look at my surgical marking before he operated on me. I then agreed to have a consultation with him on Sunday because I was told that he had an open slot for Monday, August *** at 8pm and the woman from billing walked over to him in person while I was sitting there and asked him if he would take me at that time and he agreed. At the consultation I asked him about tomorrow (Monday at 8pm) and he kind of looked at me crazy saying “I don’t do scheduling that has nothing to do with me” and I said well they told me they asked you yesterday and you said yes.. his response was the same..instead of telling me yes I will take care of you, knowing I am staying out here from out of state and he just cancelled my surgery at the very last minute when I was about to get on the table.

The next day (the day they told me I could get on the schedule for surgery) I get no response, I must of called about 15 times and got hung up on. No response until sometime in the afternoon I got an email saying I cannot be scheduled for surgery. I have since then sent emails to *** to please call me regarding a refund and no response, I call and get no where in touch with anybody who is willing to handle this situation.

I have been preparing and arranging for this surgery since April. I have a child and had to do a lot of arranging for this with my job and on top of that I wasted around $950 on travel expenses. I am beyond upset about this whole experience, and meanwhile you have my money and no one has the decency to follow up with me.

This is going to be my final email regarding this before I do what I have to do to get my money back. I am sending an email to *** as well and am asking to forward this email to a manager or have someone contact me regarding my refund.

This is false, and I have emails upon emails of evidence asking for someone in charge to contact me regarding this issue over the course of a month and a half and have been ignored whenever I bring up having a manager call me or a refund. I have called this business dozens of times only to get hung up on repeatedly or told I would get phone call back and don’t. The only way of communication has been through email and I barely get responses. The only responses I have gotten have been from *** who is slow to respond and *** who was my patient coordinator and she only responded to one email regarding this. I have emailed three managers whose emails were given to me by *** and *** and not one of them emailed me back or called me. There names on the emails were Ann, Gio, and Madeline. I have attached the final email I sent to these managers in which I got no response or phone call. I was also told that Dr. V is in charge and aware of the situation and would be in contact and I heard nothing from him either, nor did I get a response when I asked for his email or direct extension. I have attached that email as well. There is no reason why not one accountable person has not stepped up to call me or at this point just issue my refund.

I am not willing to close this claim, it has been two months, which is more than enough time to have reviewed everything that occurred. I have over 20 emails with this business, some emails were responded to, some were not and they have been aware of the occurrence since the day after the doctor refused to do my surgery because I was inside the office the next day speaking with billing employee ***, I also saw Dr. P that same weekend, still willing to proceed even after the unfathomable experience. And yet I continued to get ignored and treated like my money and time meant nothing being from out of state, staying in a NY hotel, inconveniencing more than just myself but the people I had around me to help me through this surgery and allowing me time off of work. Again, I’m requesting a full refund, that is everything I paid to Goals totaling in $8350 as well as compensation for my travel expenses and inconveniences that is $818. We have made an in depth review of the file and there are inaccuracies in ***'s complaint.

*** appeared for her surgery. Contrary to the complaint, she was far from rushed. She had several questions and the office took the time to respond. She was nervous about having surgery performed and chose to not go forward. Due to her state of anxiety, it would not have been safe to move forward at that time. Consistent with internal procedures, a memorandum and video was made outlining what had occurred.

Goals is still prepared to perform the surgery and has attempted to contact *** for some time. The most recent attempt was on October , 2019 and *** did not respond. At this juncture, Goals is not willing to provide a refund. It will, however, reschedule her to perform the requested surgery.

I made a deposit for a surgery of $500 however I explained to the patient coordinator I wasn't 100 percent sure I'd like to do it she told me to make the deposit to secure the promotion and if I changed my mind as long as I cancelled within the 14 days I can use the deposit towards any treatments they offer at their facility, we even discussed some of those other treatments. A week later after researching more on the doctors and seeing the negative reviews I op'd out of the surgery and asked if I could use it towards an aesthetic treatment they offer. Two people told me yes, the day I actually come for the appointment a person in the billing department tells me I can only use the $500 towards surgery not any aesthetic treatments at their practice.I asked to speak to a manager and they never got back to me so I tried to dispute the charge however they would not release the money to my credit card company. After constantly writing to them Charlene called me and said they will not allow me to use the money towards anything but surgery. I've constantly plea'd with them because I do not want to do any surgeries. $500 isn't a small amount of money I feel as if they are trying to force me into a procedure I do not want. I didnt take any doctors valuable time, use any of their treatments for them not to refund me or allow me to do anything else.

On 4//19 I had a consultation at GOALS Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery located at ***. The consultation was to ensure that I was a valid candidate for a plastic surgery medical procedure. Due to a medical condition that I have, I was skeptical about my validity and did not want to leave a $500 deposit to secure a date. However, I was reassured by my consultant that I was fine and indeed would be a candidate. I paid the $500 deposit as well as an additional $950 with my debit card, and applied for a loan from GreenSky to cover the remainder. GreenSky approved me for $7,000. This resulted in GOALS receiving $8,450.00 from me on 4//19, the sum of my surgery bill.

My surgery was scheduled to occur 5//19. On 5//19, two days before my surgery after I purchased all my required materials for the surgery, I receive a call to inform me that my surgery is going to be canceled due to the exact health condition I informed them of while questioning the validity of my candidacy before I continued the consultaron or financially committed to the surgery. The representative explained to me that I would receive a full refund within 7 business days. I waited over a week to inquire about the status of my refund. I was informed that I should have received it by now and that a manager would call me back in a few minutes with a follow up. A return call never materialized. I gave them a few more days and called again to inquire about my refund, this time I was hung up on.

On 6//19 I spoke with Beverly from GOALS. I was informed there was a note on my account not to receive my deposit back, but the $950 should have been returned. Also, she stated that she was working with her manager to return the funds to cancel the loan with GreenSky. Once again I was informed that a manager, off-site would be calling me to discuss the going ons of my refund. A call never materialized. It is now one month later and I have not received any communication from GOALS despite my attempts to resolve things amicably and professionally. My methods have only resulted in loan payments and fees, as I have now been charged $3.65 by GreenSky, due to Goals’ incessant negligence.

They changed the date and doctor two days before my original date. They didn’t preform the service that I paid and signed a contract for. They did not provide the services in my original contract including doctor, procedure, and date. My original surgery date was Sunday and didn’t receive the correct procedure.

Goals Plastic Surgery Response • Jan 03, 2019

was originally scheduled for surgery with a doctor who was unable to provide the surgery on her scheduled date for reasons outside the control of Goals. She wanted to have the treatment done with a doctor who was no longer providing services at Goals which is a different doctor than she was initially contracted with (She was initially scheduled for Dr. Perkins, then was to have surgery from Dr. S, eventually had surgery from Dr. K). She was rescheduled, with minimal inconvenience, for her surgery for a date before the initially scheduled date with a doctor of equal competence. She was compensated for the brief inconvenience with two massages for which she did not show. These treatments were valued in excess of $150.00. Thereafter, she signed a waiver evidencing that she refused, against medical direction, to continue any post-operative treatment with the acknowledgment that it may impact the ultimate results.

Notwithstanding, the claim that she did not have the treatment to which she contracted is false. Unfortunately, due to her body shape/type and skin, the liposuction resulted in a significant amount of excess, loose skin from the abdominal area. For some patients, the natural elasticity of the skin will cure this issue. For others, surgical skin removal may become necessary. However, it has only been a few weeks since her surgery so this is unknown.

It is also worth noting that this complaint was made within days of her surgery and Goals deems this as little more than to try to have her surgery for free due to circumstances outside the control of Goals.

As a result, Goals is not prepared to refund any amount as it has fully complied with its obligations and the accusations are false other than the rescheduling. Similarly, as to any additional costs for a hotel, this amount has not been submitted for consideration.

In the attached contract, it states the services in which I was suppose to receive for the price in which I paid in FULL to Goals Plastic Surgery. After 3 hour of intensive surgery, I woke up to realize that I have only received fat grafting to just one area. I have notice this issue immediately, later going to Goals Plastic Surgery in the following morning to voice my concerns. I had a brief confrontation with one of the manager, Maddie, which she stated that in the price that I paid that I only was suppose to receive it in one area. THIS IS NOT WHAT I PAID FOR IN MY ORIGINAL CONTRACT (view attached). I have given Goals Plastic Surgery funding based off of my original contract. They switched everything two days before my surgery.
Before surgery I was asked by the assistant surgeon, "So what are you getting today", as if they did not know what I was receiving. Goals Plastic Surgery has been completely unprofessional throughout this complete journey. I lost over "350 in hotel and transportation fee. GOALS HAVE NOT COMPENSATED ME FOR ANYTHING.
THERE WAS NO COMPENSATION. NO MASSAGES WHERE RECEIVED (excluding the free drainage provided in the original contract). NO POST OPERATION PACKAGE.
Goals have not been in contact with me since.
I have called multiple times and have not received a response from any representative of Goals Plastic Surgery.
I DID NOT RECEIVE THE SERVICE FOR WHAT I HAVE PAID IN FULL FOR.

Contrary to the assertions made by the complainant, she did, in fact, have the surgery to which she paid for. It was not partially performed. The post operative notes are attached. She failed to show up for follow ups and signed an acknowledgment that she was voluntarily waiving further treatment (also attached). Goals paid for her hotel and two other post operative massages to which she did not appear.

Again, based upon the demand made herein, we are unable to make any offers as she received all treatment.

Further, we understand that she has made disparaging posts online in violation of her contractual obligations which require that she refrain from doing so without providing an attempt to resolve the matter. As she went directly to the Revdex.com after her surgery, we were unable to resolve the matter without the inclusion of legal counsel.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The acknowledgment form was scratched out and asked to dispose. Hotel was not provide or used. I personally marked hips and added a star on the date on my surgery because it was not initially marked. Please proved the contract in which the doctor received before my surgery. With the date betweenDecember *** to December ***. It will not have hips marked as the surgery WAS NOT! Performed! On the contract that was given to the doctor it did not have hips added. The fact that Goals Plastic Surgery is using fraudulent ways to “cover up” for their mistake, makes any discussions or comments from Goals 100% false. Not once did they comment on the fact that they failed to provide information or rebuttal to the case of me not receiving a fattransfer to the hip area, better shows that they know all of my comments are correct. I have bow tattoo on my hip and it has the same look and feel before surgery. Again, Goals Plastic Surgery has not reached out to me since the second day of my surgery. A free massage will not replace the fact that I spent $4850 on a surgery that I didn’t receive CORRECTLY!

I had a Vo’Skin peel in February at the Brooklyn location, pieces of my skin were burned off, it healed. The 2nd time I tried the procedure again at the Harlem location, I used the at home products again, nothing happened. All I have experienced was discomfort. For the pass several months I’ve emailed pictures and called Goals to resolve this issue, my concerns were ignored, I keep getting told that “someone” will get back to me about the refund, absolutely nothing, totally unprofessional. I have proof of all emails and pictures of my skin. There’s a money back guarantee for the procedure, all I want is a refund, all $1250.00. I don’t want anything to do with a company that shows a blatant disregard for their loyal customer.

I had expectations on receiving plastic surgery but after a consultation with my health care provider I was told I was not physically fit to withstand the surgery. After finding this out I immediately notified the office and was told to email a copy of the letter from my health provider so that my original deposit of $900 could be refunded this was on July ***. As of today 8//18 I still have not heard anything from this office and I'm constantly transferred to a voicemail for a woman named Maddie.
