I purchased $6,000 worth of refrigeration equipment from CFS. One of the products was damaged in shipping by *** Freight. I immediatley filed a claim with *** and CFS. The customer service department at CFS told me I should receive about $100 after they saw pictures I took of the dents in the side of the refrigerator. *** sent out a person to take their own pictures of the damage. *** denied the claim because the product was not packaged correctly. I agree with ***, there was very little protection on the side that was dented. CFS says the packaging was correct and has been no help in resolving this claim. I am caught in the middle. I am not a customer of ***. I am a customer of CFS, and they aren't helping with the *** claim.
Mr ***,We hate to hear you had this experience with the carrier who denied your claim. I can assure you that we have been working very hard to try and help resolve your claim. However since we were not the ones who started the claim with them from the start, the carrier decided to be unethical and not let us get involved (we have never experienced this issue with any carrier before and we are no longer using them). After going through many channels to help assist you in your claim, we were able to come to a resolution and the last we were aware, you are happy with the end results. Also, please note that even though the carrier's inspector said the packaging wasn't sufficient, I can assure you it was packaged by the manufacturer properly and that their products are shipped nationwide, with little to no issues whatsoever. I've also reached out to the manufacturer and they have confirmed that their packaging does meet the proper transportation standards. So unfortunately this was a case where the carrier decided to damage your equipment and not be responsible for their actions. As mentioned earlier, we are no longer using this carrier due to this reason and for a few other reasons where they have been completely unethical.Thanks,General Manager
