GM Repair Center of Roseville

I took my car into the service department to have the oil changed about a year ago. Was told it would be done by noon. Then I was called and told it would not be done until end of business. They offered to get me a rental which I accepted, but when I returned the rental I had to pay for it and not them. Complained to the dealership about this and was told that they would update my file and that I would be taken care of the next time I came in.

Took my car in yesterday for two recalls I received from Dodge. Called on the phone and was told that since these were recalls I did not need to make an appointment, just drop off the car. When I got there they told me I did indeed need an appointment and that they were booked. My wife asked if we could bring it back the following Saturday and was told they were booked that day too. This would not have bothered me so much except Dodge is telling me to get my car in to have the recalls fixed.

When I was leaving I saw one of the salespeople open a door for a potential customer. I told him in a loud voice that by opening that door, he had done more to promote customer service than their entire customer service had done for me in my only two visits. I also told him that their customer service department sucked. At this point the floor manager came out and told me if I did not like the way I was being treated that I could take my business elsewhere.

Moral of the story - At AutoNation, once the sale is final you go from being a friend to a number.
