We bought a house in Maine that had all Global Windows in it. The house was 4 years old when purchasesd. Within 2 years the windows started to fog between the glass sheets and within the next year they were almost all fogged to the point of embarrassment. We contacted global Wondows as they have a 10 year guarantee. After some time they agreed if we came across the border to St. Stephens, Canada to pick up the windows they would replace them. Upon arrival we expected glass in window sashes and much to our surprise we found window inserts. Meaning we had to find someone to take the windows out of the saches and replace them. The warehouse people improperly packed our windows and the 200 miles trip found several broken upon our arrival at home.
We have to pay for their admited manufacturing defect by having these windows placed in sashes at a cost of $65 an hour to us. We asked the [redacted] to come to our home to put the windows in but they refused so Global Windows somehow got them to come...one year later... to do us the favor of replacing the windows in the sashes at our cost. Not much of a guarantee.
We asked them to sell us the sashes with the windows in them but they refused. They have the inserts but won't sell us them installed in the sashes...can't believe it.
I' D SUGGEST YOU LOOK FOR ANOTHER BRAND AS THEIR GARANTEE ISN'T WORTH MUCH. [redacted]
