Global Power Networks Reviews (%countItem)

I signed up with GPN with the intention of getting a sales team to help me with my network marketing business that I am involved in. They advertise their services as "Your Network Marketing Sales Team". I was under the impression that I was to provide them with sales leads and that they would contact the leads for me and set up appointments on my behalf. When I talked to one of their representatives they told me that they would contact the leads that I provided and set up the appointments for me, and that they would build my network marketing business, and do all the hard part of sales. After I enrolled with GPN for $99 per month. I was informed that I had to contact my own leads and promote GPN's business and let my leads know that someone from GPN would call them. After I found this out I requested a refund. GPN has refused to give me a refund, and not only have they refused to refund my money, but they are trying to force me to keep their service and continue to charge me $99 per month for a service that is not what it is advertised to be. On their website www.gpncenter.com they plainly state that they are "Your Network Marketing Sales Team" on the front page. The video they have on their website reiterates that they "will do all the hard work of sales for you". I contacted the CEO Mr. *** about a refund and he stated that they did not want to keep anyone's money who did not want to do business with them. *** I never received a refund and they have consistently harassed me about keeping their services and paying $99 per month.

Desired Outcome

Refund I would like a refund of my entire $99.97 and for GPN to quit contacting me.

Some of the things Mr. says in his complaint are true such as "I was to provide them with sales leads and that they would contact the leads for me and set up appointments on my behalf." and that we "do all the hard part of sales." We happily do this for personal referrals and any lead that opts in through his GPN landing page.

We do not, however, do this for cold leads. If Mr. was inquiring about cold leads, he would have been told (and these are the exact notes from the CEO's meeting with Mr.) "that he does not need to introduce GPN or talk about it... although it would make the intro more effective... all he has to do is ensure they are expecting a call from someone on his team to explain how they can build a home business to earn extra income... but explained that if he positioned GPN at a high level that would certainly add to the attraction to learn more.

He thought our focus was to sell GPN.. we explained to him that our focus is *** (his company) but also noted how GPN can help his leads build in a more comfortable way and that creates duplication... because we do that initial sales call and follow-up.

(notes from meeting with CEO) He understands we don't cold call and ensured me he knew 35 prospect minimum (P.S. not one prospect was ever entered into the system for us to follow up with).

Reviewing the notes, I saw that Mr. talked to our Marketing Manager about a refund not the CEO. Our manager also explained "that we are not a cold calling service, went over the $2500 to $3500/mo fees cold calling services typically charge. He indicated he knew that and that's why he thought GPN was such a great deal." Other notes from his meeting with our Marketing Manager indicate "Went over how he can add people to his pipeline using landing page - via *** and referrals. He said he was not open to doing that because he's not getting a cut of the fees we charge to help people."

Now one could argue that Mr. misunderstood the person he originally talked to about GPN and believed we would call cold leads, however, on our sign up page the following 3 points need to be checked off in order to proceed with the credit card entry and sign-up into GPN:

By checking each statement, I confirm that I fully understand and agree to the following:

-I am committed to paying my GPN membership fees for a minimum of 3 months. If I fail to make the 3 payments, I will be responsible to pay any additional fees incurred by GPN to recover their fees.

-I acknowledge that GPN does not make cold calls and that all leads must have requested a consultation with GPN; nor do we call leads outside the USA and Canada.

-Any lead packages are a cost over and above the GPN membership fees.

So not only do we follow through with what we promise in our video, but everyone on our team and our website reiterates the same message.

Mr. agreed to a 3 month commitment and to paying any cost we incur recovering any outstanding fees. Plus we fully stated that we DO NOT do cold sales in any way, shape or form.

The reason we enforce the 3 month commitment is because we offer our service at a VERY low cost compared to what it is worth given our mission to help as many people as possible create success in their business and the people that really need our service would not be able to afford it if we charged much higher than $99/month. We put a lot of effort in with our members during the early days to complete the setup of their account and ongoing support so if members would not stay for a minimum of 3 months we would be losing money.

If Mr. would like to pay the $198.99 he is still owing to us, we would be more than happy to provide him with access to our platform and service for the next two months. But if he refuses, we have no choice but to send him to collections.

Please let us know what he decides.

Customer Response • May 06, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
*** I spoke to a couple of people in this so called company about a refund including the CEO ***. *** Once I signed up and realized what GPN really was I requested a refund that first week. They said that they would have someone call me to explain the business. After I talked to the guy they had call me I requested a refund. A few days later *** called me. I requested a refund from him, and he said that the call I received from the other guy was a training session and I was being charged for that. I also communicated with ***'s wife *** and she was trying to get me to sign up for ***. T? This is totally unacceptable and I have no choice but to take further action if I am not refunded my money.

Mr.,

We have a very good reputation in the marketplace and a strict 3 month minimum requirement in order for us to maintain our service levels and the ability to offer our service at the low rate of $99 to help as many people as possible that need our service to create success in their home business.

However, in the spirit of cooperation and in order to reach a compromise, we will refrain from sending your account to collections and allow you out of your 3 month contract in return for the $99 you have already paid. Please confirm this is an acceptable offer.
