Review: I received a debt collection notice June 22nd, 2015 from NCR listing Global Legal Resources as the client, yet [redacted] answered the phone and identifies "Securus" as the party involved. There seems to be some kind of shell game going on where different front companies, in my case Securus, use high pressure sales tactics to get small businesses into a 4-yr. lease with another company, First Data Global Leasing. I was verbally and in writing on the Securus contract assured that I could cancel this service. I was to receive a guarantee letter re. the same. When it arrived, it did not contain this info and I contacted Securus to cancel the contract and was told this was done. After a bank draft to my account the end of December 2014, I was informed I had to contact another company, First Data as well. I did so and received a cancellation order dated 1/5/2015. I heard nothing further until this debt collection threatening my credit report and asking for $6000+ in monies. Incidentally, I have an 823 credit rating and pride myself on good consumer practices. I am appalled at the practices by these companies and am filing with my Dept. Of Justice. A Google search yields much disparing info on these companies! I hope this helps other businesses avoid this problem.Desired Settlement: Drop the collection process, refund the $34.98 drafted from my account, payment of any and all attorney's fees resulting from potential litigation.
