This message is inreference to Revdex.com complaint # *** regarding a resident of GlenEagles inScottsdale, AZ. The resident came into our leasing office questioning the amount on their statementI explained to the resident the reason for the bill was
because they did not provide a 60-day noticeA 60-day notice to vacate is a standard operating procedure for all property management companies to require of their residents. This requirement is also spelled out in the lease agreements our residents sign upon move-inThe resident in question stated that they knew nothing of this requirement and that the previous Assistant Business Manager had told them this wasn't necessary. I contacted the previous assistant manager (*** ***) and she assured me this was untrue; she did, in fact, spell the 60-day notice requirement out for the resident. I explained to this individual that I was not able to waive this requirement, and that they were indeed responsible for the 60-day notice. At this point, the resident became very angry, combative, and told me that I had to change it for her. I said that this was not something I could do. I further explained that I adhere to legal Fair Housing standards, so I must hold all residents to the same policy She became even more belligerent, telling me she would stand outside and tell residents to avoid renting at GlenEagles. I then explained that should she stay through the 60-day notice period, she would automatically be placed on a month-to-month lease rate since her lease would have expired. She began insulting me at this point and demanded to speak with someone else. I provided her with the contact information for my Regional Manager, but the resident did not attempt to contact her. At no time was I insulting; I maintained a professional demeanor. I simply explained to her that I could not make an exception as all residents are held to the same policies and when she asked, I pointed out the section of her lease calling for the 60-day notice. I also stated that for me to allow her an exception when I wouldn't allow one for our other residents would be a violation of the Fair Housing laws. She began making insulting remarks about us being dishonest, to which I let her know that we hold ourselves to very high ethical standards, which is why I have to treat all residents fairly and consistently. At this time, GlenEagles and Alliance Residential Company have, in good faith, done everything possible to assist this individual, but we cannot go against company policy, nor can we knowingly violate the *** *** ***.Thank you,*** ***, CAM| SeniorBusiness Manager Alliance Residential Company

What a coincidence that this response finally comes today, the same day I receive yet another bill from Glen Eagles after being promised all due money had been paid. Now they are trying to charge me for utilities when I wasn't even at the facility. I'm disgusted that [redacted] claims they hold themselves to a high ethical standard. That's simply another bold faced lie. [redacted] was never the one that I had a problem with. She didn't tell me to my face that the 60-day notice was unnecessary since we signed a 90-day lease. [redacted] was the one who assured me that an additional notice would not be necessary due to the short-term lease. And this is [redacted] speaking, I was never inappropriate or threatening in any way whatsoever during our conversation. I've come to understand that this company doesn't care about its residents AT ALL. They truly only care about money and can't be trusted in the slightest. I can say that yes, [redacted] was calm in our conversation, but he was not honest, and thus, not professional as he claims. I am even more disappointed now that they are trying to get an additional $170 out of me for utilities when I wasn't even there. It's adding insult to injury after having already forced me to pay an additional months rent while I wasn't there. They're threatening to send this sum as well to the credit bureaus if I don't comply. I have a perfect credit report and don't deserve this. I'm appalled that there are people like this and businesses that run like this - to prey on trusting people who take others word for the truth only to be left out to dry. I had a judge read the lease here in Illinois and he stated he had never seen something so written with the intent of trapping leasees and he spent years in court over these very cases. I had property managers read the lease who said the very same thing: "I've never seen anything like this. Definitely designed to penalize renters". It would be a small step on behalf of Glen Eagles to simply put a notice in renters mailboxes 60 days before their lease is to end. A simple business courtesy. This has been recommended to [redacted] and he simply states that he has heard that before and will probably hear it again. This business truly does not care about the people it is meant to serve. They do nothing to prevent this because it means more money for them. You're a disgrace Glen Eagles, and you [redacted], are extremely dishonest.
