Called these guys in on a job that others glass suppliers hesitated to do. Chad assured me that he had the experience and expertise to do the job. After we discussed exactly what me and my customer wanted I was assured once again that he was the guy for the job. After multiple trips and each time me and the customer telling Chad that this is a steam shower and needs to be fully sealed and closed off with no gaps. Chad still continued to let us both know that he would make it right. Still after 6 trips and multiple delays and very upset customers. Also at this point me and my customer had no faith that Chad or his Crew could do as they assured us from the beginning so we had to go and find another supplier and installer to remedy this issue. In the end they were very unprofessional, not understanding at all, and unwilling to satisfy me and my customer. This caused me to purchase another door and now have to incur the cost of 2 doors.
I would never recommend Chad or Glass Doctor to anyone.
Review: I recently had my back glass replaced by Glass Doctor based out of Kenilworth NJ for $470. Several days later, I tried to use the rear defroster and found that it did not work. Glass Doctor sent a technician out to inspect the work they performed and said that the window was not getting power and that it was a blown fuse. After searching my car's manual, I found that the window did not have a stand alone fuse. I proceeded to use my own multimeter to discover that the wire for the defroster had been disconnected and never reconnected. Upon connecting, the defroster worked. I then noticed that the radio had a lot of static which was not normal. I pulled the plastic panel from the left of the back glass that was replaced to discover that both the AM and FM antenna wire tabs had been broken off of the rear window. At this point I ordered the adhesive to repair the window and placed my first request for a partial refund into Glass Doctor (Spoke with [redacted] on 12/22). I was told that they would look into it and get back to me. The adhesive came in and I repaired the wires and then noticed water in my trunk. I inspected the seal around the window and found that an inadequate seal was made around the new glass. I repaired the seal with gasket sealer and contacted glass doctor to let them know of the newly discovered issue. I received a call on 12/29 from [redacted] stating that they would not issue a partial refund but could come and remove the glass from the vehicle for a full refund. Regardless of outcomes, I made it clear that Glass Doctor's technicians would not be performing any work on my vehicle ever again.Desired Settlement: I believe a fair settlement is for $100 out of the original $470 bill to be refunded back to me. This amount covers the $25 spent on sealant and electrically conducive products to repair the leaking seal around the glass and to repair the metal tabs for the radio antenna. The company has offered to remove the glass and provide a full refund but I have already re-tinted the back glass and do not want to waste the money spent on other repairs to my vehicle due to poor workmanship / customer service on behalf of Glass Doctor.
