I bought a portable garage 11'x12'x28' , oct. 2019. from Give me Shelter.
The cover had some imperfections that couldn't be anticipated.
The company was very helpful in getting this resolve. The cover was replaced and shipped to my address at no cost. I was impressed, they have my trust.

I bought a shelter from said co. and it leaks from day one. She said it is normal , but why have a shelter if the darn thing leaks. I paid 1200$ plus taxes and shipping which was over 1600. She keeps saying send it back and get half your money and that just not acceptable. I was under the assumption because it is called a Canadian Shelter that it is waterproof as all the ones I had were, nowhere on the site does it say otherwise. It is leaking all over my classic vehicle which my other cheaper cover had not in the least. I keep both ends open so it is not a condensation problem it is the how the cover is made itself

This customer was told ( in his assembly instructions), that portable garages are not guaranteed waterproof. He chose to assemble his garage and then complained to Give Me Shelter that the garage is leaking. We explained to him that, as per the instructions, the garages are not guaranteed waterproof but often seal once the sun seals the cover around the stitching. He was not happy with this and wanted money refunded.He also contacted the manufacturer who suggested the same solution that Give Me Shelter suggested--using a seam sealer if he does not want to wait for the sun to seal the cover around the stitching. We explained that as he erected the garage it cannot be returned as it is now a used product. We do not accept used products for return, but did offer several options when he continued to complain, including: 1. We offered to allow the customer to exchange his garage for a different one that he indicated he would prefer with a restocking fee. 2. We offered to send the photos of the cover to the manufacturer for inspection,upon inspection of the photos they concluded there is no defect in the cover. 3. We offered for the customer to return the cover to the plant for the manufacturer to apply the seam sealer 4. we offered to accept the garage for a return with a restocking fee charged(note that we do not normally accept used products for return). 5. We offered to provide a partial refund to cover the cost of the seam sealer. 6. we offered to send him the seam sealer.
Please note that Give Me Shelter offers many different garages, including the sewn seam Canadian garage and a welded seam garage( which is less likely to allow moisture in at the seams). Our most popular garage is the Canadian garage as the cover lasts up to 10-15 years, many years longer than the typical imported garage on the market today.

First off there is No mention of not being waterproof in the very poorly written instructions. I bought this shelter thinking it was a finished product, as in thinking it was a shelter, there was no mention of it not being waterproof and leaks and the posts didn't even come with feet.I had to get some made. For 1200 dollars you would think that it would have feet
Just raw metal pipe that digs into the ground, the website doesn't say anything about the shelter or what you get and when you phone her she doesn't give you any info. She wants to restock it for 50% off what I paid and thinks I can afford to ship it back to get sealed or exchanged, it cost me 200.00 to ship in the first place.For the money I paid and the holes that you can see daylight through not being stitched tight or close enough, I am sure the sun is going to seal it, what a joke.Not happy, don't buy the Canadian Shelter because it leaks.

I didn't get a copy of the warranty, just some very poorly typed out instructions that I had to figure out by trial and error. I am glad that you are happy because for the money I paid, and it leaks, I am not very happy. It's not true that this is the first time I mentioned the feet because you said rubber feet are an extra and that I didn't mention it when I complained. (e-mail to prove it)
How am I suppose to know they didn't come with the 1200.00$ shelter. All of my friends say that I got ripped off ,which I did. All the options that you provide are only for your benefit and not helping me at all.
We are happy to source the optional plastic caps for this customer for his legs( he has not requested them until now). They will not prevent the building sinking slightly into dirt as they all will(our customers don't usually find this a problem as the framing prevent more than a couple of inches of sinking and they don't sink on a more solid surface such as pavement). He can feel free to contact us about the caps. We are also happy to send a copy of the warranty wording indicating the garage is not waterproof( no option to attach is included here). We are happy to provide any of the options the customer has been offered already, as previously indicated. Thank you for your help Revdex.com.
