Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. After submitting the complaint to Revdex.com I visited the business in person for a third time. This time one of the employees agreed to issue a refund as a Hand & Stone was at fault for giving me incorrect information regarding my final membership charge. I appreciated the response and feel that they took all needed steps to rectify the situation.
Regards,
[redacted]
Dear Representative Revdex.com,A full refund was provided to [redacted] on June 26th. The customer was charged one last payment as per the membership contract. [redacted] was very upset about the charge so we refunded her as a good faith gesture. The Giggity Group dba Hand and Stone
Review: I had a membership with Hand & Stone. My card was auto-charged for the membership fee monthly. On June 6, 2014 I went in person to the location to cancel my membership. I was told by the employee at the front desk that typically they would charge me for my June membership as it took them a certain amount of time to process the cancellation. I responded that I did not find this acceptable that they could continue to charge my card after cancellation without my authorization. She explained this was typically the policy but that she understood my concern and to accommodate me, she would put my Hand & Stone membership on hold until the cancellation was processed. I was told that my membership was completely closed and that I would receive no future charges from Hand & Stone. On 6/23/14 my debit card was charged by Hand & Stone without my authorization. I have gone in person twice to the [redacted] location (on 6/23 and 6/24) to request that a refund be issued. Both times I was met with incredible hostility from the employees. I was told that only managers can issue refunds. Both times I was told that the manager was not available but that they would take down my information and he would call me back. I have received no call back. I can't believe a company that claims to be dedicated to customer service would behave in this manner. I have requested a new debit card from my bank in order to ensure this business does not continue to fraudulently charge my card without my authorization.Desired Settlement: The only acceptable resolution to this situation is for a refund to be issued.
