Review: On 26 September 2014 my son (who was 6 days old) required a biliblanket for severe jaundice to prevent hospitalization. We got authorization from our insurance (still have that number). I am active duty military, and use Tricare as insurance. We were told that through a fluke, we had to pay cash and then we would have to bill Tricare ourselves. Gibraltar is an in-network provider, however, so Tricare will only accept their billing. The owner, "Joy," who told us to pay cash in the first place, lied, and told Tricare that we said we had no insurance. The treatment is fully covered and I have been active duty for years, in addition I have authorization from Tricare, so I am not sure why we would have said that... After threatening to report her, Joy sent a claim in with a different dollar amount than we had paid, and gave the wrong billing code, for a treatment that a 6 day old newborn would have no business getting. Joy has been rude, threatening and dishonest with my family, and has taken advantage of my son and my family, and she will do it again. She ignores phone calls half the time, and lies the other half. Tricare can get no resolution from her either.Desired Settlement: Joy and her business should be shut down. At the very least, Tricare needs to stop doing business with her. She is in violation with her contract to them, she has been nothing but a nightmare to my family, and she has taken advantage of a sick little boy to get cash. She needs to submit a CORRECT claim with the CORRECT code, and the CORRECT amount, and do her job and live up to her end of a contract with Tricare. Then she needs stop preying on sick children and military families.
Review: September 26 2014 my newborn son was in need of a biliblanket to treat his jaundice in home or he would need to be hospitalized. His pediatrician contacted my insurance as well as medical supply providers in the area that would possibly supply us with the device. With an authorization number already in hand from my insurance company (active duty tricare) we were put into contact with Gibraltar healthcare to supply us with the biliblanket as they were the only company in the area that would provide the needed equipment. We were in contact with a Raul who informed us that they were unable to bill tricare and that they were denying the claim. We were told we would have to pay cash if we wanted the device and that we would have to submitt our own claim. We needed the device immediately to keep our son out of the hospital so we agreed without asking any questions. Upon tryimg to submit a claim to our insurance we have found that because Gibraltar is an in network provider they had to submitt the claim for it to be covered. I called Gibraltar after learning this and spole to the owner Joy who told me first that they werent billing tricare because they were having issues then later in the same conversation that they had no knowledge of us having insurance when they took us as cash customers. I asked for paperwork or a claim form that I could send to tricare. It wasn't until I brought up reporting them to the Revdex.com that she would agree to send it to me. When I received it, it was an insurance claim form with a higher amount than we even paid. Our insurance will not reimburse us for this becuase it was this company's responsibility to bill for our service. They should have done their job and billed tricare as they are required to do being one of their network providers. Im not sure why they lied to us and made us pay cash, especially since I had an authorization number. Its very ddishonest and now I am not able to be reimbursed by insurance.Desired Settlement: I would like gilbraltar to do what is required of them. Being an in network tricare provider they are required to bill tricare directly for our service. I would then like the money I paid to gilbraltar retutned to me. They never should have asked us to pay cash and they know that.
