I do agree that the conversation between *** and Andy went way overboard and was very unprofessional, which a deeply regret and apologize for We feel the roof job was done professionally and to the manufactures specifications. There are several ways to install shingles in a
valley, which was installed to manufacturers specifications. It was mentioned in several pre construction meetings by myself to simply replace all the plywood on the roof. They declined to replace entire sheathing, therefore left it to our discretion. If they wanted the entire roof sheathing replaced they should have stated that from the beginning. It is extremely unfortunate that this is a problem after the roof has been replaced. We replaced several sheets of plywood, which we believed to have the most damage. We did offer to access the attic and install 2xbetween rafters to support the missed sagging sheets ( at the time, there was locations) which could have been repaired from underneath. When contacted by owners, it did take longer than it should have to establish a meeting with themThis lies solely on my shouldersI hate the fact that they feel we ripped them off. We have been doing business since in summit county and have never had a single complaint. We are not in the business of taking advantage of clientsBut we also don't feel we are to blame when the home owners leave it to us and our discretion to replace sheathingJust because the plywood is sagging doesn't mean the plywood is bad. The entire roof didn't have plywood "H" clips which are used to help keep plywood from sagging between rafters. This would never be an issue if they would have agreed to simply replace all the sheeting on the roof. Once again, we replaced what we felt at the time was in need of replacement.. I hope there is some other way we can resolve this issue that doesn't involve us replacing the entire roof for free, which is what they are basically requesting. Please advise us of where we go from here. Andy and his family go way back with us, back to grade school. I surely don't want our name being smeared around as a shotty contractor. We have offered to shore it up from the attic, but they declined. I hope there is some way we can work this unfortunate coincidence out. Sincerely Nick
