Mr [redacted] brought his Honda Element in for NYS Inspection & oil changeThe check engine light was on at that timeA computer scan was authorized by him with the result of a POcode; engine coolant tempbelow thresholdThis means the engine was not reaching sufficient tempto meet emissions standardsThis particular code would have to happen a minimum of times for the code to setTherefore to correct the problem the thermostat and temp sensor would need replacingReplacing both parts would eliminate the possibility of the code coming back and since they are located near each other, would save him returning with the same code with minimal labor chargeThe fact that the engine was not reaching specified temp would not show up in drivabilityI did however, call Mr [redacted] and got his voicemailI left a message and HE did not return my call. The shop that cleared the code and inspected his car not only did him a dis-service but violated NYS Inspection rules by bypassing a known emission related problemIn reference to the thermostat failing, that repair years ago was not performed here and obviously the OEM stat only lasted yearsAt some point when events happen again the check engine light will come back on and the car will not be meeting emission standards If Mr [redacted] had returned my call! would have straightened this whole situation out.Since Mr [redacted] had already authorized the performed work there will be no refund issuedI would like to talk to him personally to work this issue outYours Truly Michael ***
