I am not willing to except the one sided settlement. I would be glad not to contact her ever again if the bill is paid in full. Otherwise I see no other option than to put a mechanic’s lien on the property, until it goes through the legal system. I did what I was asked to do by her Realtor and inspector with approval from her realtor. If I was out to screw people for 1500.00 You would think you would find more complaints with the Revdex.com. I can only remember one other complaint filed with the Revdex.com at least 20 years ago. Sincerely, Tom S[redacted]
Review: On or about May 7th, 2013 I contacted the business to diagnose & repair an issue with a well pump in a house I own which I rent out. Normally I would do a repair like this myself, but because I was out of town, & water is a necessity for tenants, I contacted this business. I was given an estimate of $1500 for the work & was told it was so high due to the need to replace some existing pipe that I was told "was not normally used". I was also told they would be removing a strainer that was on the incoming line just before the pump to keep well debris out of the pump & pressure tank. Again I was told this is "not normally done". When being told these things I was not in a position to argue as my concern was getting water to my tenants. So I told the person, [redacted] Strohm, to "do what needs to be done". Approximately 1 week after the new pump was installed, I was called by the tenant telling me the new pump was "cycling", meaning it kept going on & off. I called the business, & they sent a technician, who called me & told me he had to clean dirt & debris out of the pressure switch that controls the pump. I did not expect to be billed for this call as it was only a week after the new install. Not only did l get a bill for $130 + but the invoice stated that the cause of the issue was of no fault of the business, yet they removed the strainer that would have prevented dirt from getting into the pressure switch when they did the new install. I then called several plumbing & well pump businesses & asked them about both the strainer & the pipe that was there before the new install & was told neither were improper & that in fact the strainer was a good idea. I subsequently sent an email to the business ... specifically addressing it to [redacted] Strohm, advising him of what I learned & my dissatisfaction with what had been done. I have never received a response, but have received late notices for the $130 + bill.Desired Settlement: I believe I was mislead about the original "needed" work so that I could be over billed for unnecessary material & labor. I feel I should get a partial refund for the original job, & that I should not have been billed at all for the second service call, since they removed the strainer that would have kept dirt out of the pump & pressure switch.
