George Brazil Plumbing & Electrical Services Reviews (1072)

I had great service!

Service pro was knowledgable and experienced!

Great Job George Brazil

Elija O. - great job as always

Barry, with George Brazil, came to do some electrical work that needed doing after an inspection was done for the sale of our home. Barry was on time, and I found him to be very personable. He listened to my concerns intently and explained why the repairs needed to be done. There were a couple simple fixes that only took two minutes so Barry was happy to fix those at no charge. This meant a lot to me because it helped me to trust that Barry wouldn't charge me for repairs that weren't necessary. He worked quickly and showed me his work when he finished to make sure I was happy with the job he did. I will have Barry back whenever I need electrical work done at my home. Thanks Barry!

I am very happy with the service I received from George Brazil. They are very professional and prompt in setting up the appointment and in the service provided. Also, I needed a follow up visit about two weeks later. They came out as soon as possible and didn't even charge me. I would definitely recommend them to others.

Jamie H. provided us with the most professional service that could be expected.

Yesterday Tom M[redacted] was my service technician. He replaced my water heater. I was very impressed with his attitude and professionalism!!

I look forward to him being my technician in the future!

[redacted] is great! He explains his findings clearly and does not push you to buy everything he recommends, concentrating on the most important problems as he sees them.

Review: We had a slab leak occur in our home. Our neighbor attempted to help us fix it and when the problem got too bad, we called George Brazil. When the plumber, [redacted], arrived around 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, we had already removed the panel on the back of the house to expose the plumbing and had cleared out everything underneath the kitchen sink, and moved the dishwasher and the wine fridge. [redacted] looked at the water running out of the back of the house, determined we had a slab leak, and said we needed to do a leak locate. At this point we had dealt with water coming into our house for the past 2 days, having to turn the water main off, and we were tired and stressed. [redacted] said their price to do a leak locate was $780.00 because they used a guy that was always 100% accurate, ect. We had no idea what a fair price was, and we needed to get this leak stopped ASAP, so we agreed. After having the leak locator come out, they cut two large holes in our drywall (after cutting the first hole, the leak locator determined he had the wrong location) and telling us that we were responsible for fixing it, [redacted] quoted us a total of $3,119.00 to reroute the line. He wanted payment immediately. I wanted to make a claim through our homeowner's policy, and started the process. The claims adjuster told us if our claim was approved, they would pay George Brazil directly. [redacted] said it did not work that way, so we scheduled service a few days out so I could speak with State Farm again Monday morning. Our neighbor, who used to be a union pipe-fitter, said after [redacted] left that the $3,119.00 price quote seemed astronomical. When I spoke to my insurance agent on Monday morning, he too said we were being incredibly over-charged for the work. I called 2 other plumbing services and received quotes that were less than 1/2 of that amount. Based upon the information I received, we decided not to use George Brazil and I called Tuesday morning (7.21.15) and cancelled the work. I asked the company to send me a bill for the work that [redacted] did do on Sunday, because I knew we would need to pay for that. Shortly afterward, [redacted] called my phone and left a VM. He then called a 2nd time and a 3rd time. I was at work, so I asked my husband to please call him back and ask him for an invoice because the only document we had at the time was the invoice showing a 3,119.00 total. [redacted] told my husband we owed $782.00, refused to provide us an invoice, and told us he had to come by the house to collect payment. I absolutely do not believe this is true. George Brazil is a huge company with a billing department. I don't believe that 1) I am not entitled to an invoice showing the correct amount, and 2) that I cannot mail in a payment. Once [redacted] had given my husband this information, things started to seem strange about the interactions on Sunday, and I began researching pricing for leak location services. I was unable to find a single company that charged more than $200.00 to locate a leak, and George Brazil charged me $782.00. Further, I attempted to locate the company that [redacted] listed as the leak locator on our original invoice ([redacted]) and could not find any record of that company whatsoever. I beleive that George Brazil and whatever company they used to locate the leak (which caused 1 unnecessary large hole in our drywall that I now have to repair myself) are in cahoots and are over-charging their customers to the hilt when they are in a stressful situation and don't know any better. I intended to call George Brazil this morning and request a corrected invoice, however, before that could occur, [redacted] called my cell phone at 6:05 a.m., and then showed up, unannounced and uninvited at my home at 6:40 a.m. and rang the doorbell repeatedly. I answered the door and he very abruptly, and rudely demanded payment. I explained to him that I was uncomfortable giving him payment of $782.00 when the ONLY invoice I had showed an amount of $3,119.00. He told me I would get a receipt after payment. I explained again that having a receipt for $782.00 doesn't help me when I have an invoice, with our signature on it, showing we owed $3,119.00. There would be nothing to stop the company for coming after us for the remaining amount because there was NO INVOICE showing the correct amount. It took while to get [redacted] to understand this and he was visibly upset and rude during the exchange. I finally got him to understand, and I did pay the amount he demanded, even though I now feel that I was incredibly over-charged. I find it completely inappropriate that I was told yesterday we could not have an invoice because this company "doesn't do that" and that [redacted] insisted he had to come by our home to collect payment. George Brazil is a huge company with a billing department, and I don't believe for 2 seconds that I can't have an invoice and that I can't mail in a payment. I also do not appreciate the repeated phone calls that were made (some at inappropriate hours), and him showing up at my home, unannounced at 6:40 a.m. and the rude manner in which we were treated. I am also appalled at ridiculous amount we were charged, coupled with the fact that our wall was destroyed in the process, especially when the locator (who was supposed to be 100% right) was wrong the first time, and we will have to pay to repair that.Desired Settlement: 1) I want the actual name, license number, etc. for the leak location company [redacted] called out, because the name we were given is wrong and I want to check that company out.

2) I want the damage to my wall from the incorrect locate repaired.

3) I would like a partial refund. I am not disputing that a leak locate was done. I am disputing the fact that it would cost $782.00. This is ridiculous. The highest price I found online was $200.00. Since it was a Sunday, I would be willing to pay overtime, but even with double-time, the highest we should have paid is $400.00

4) George Brazil needs to train their employees properly. Phone calls at 6:05 a.m. are inappropriate, as is arriving at someone's home unannounced and uninvited at 6:40 a.m. and repeatedly ringing the doorbell.

Our first time using George Brazil. Had a fantastic electrician named Raul V who took care of us, cannot say enough good things, if this is an example of the calibre of GB's employees they are a very fortunate employer!

This young man obviously loves his job, courteous, knowledgeable, took time explaining all aspects of work needed...never felt pressured...it was an extremely positive experience....quality workmanship and attention to detail.

Raul V[redacted] put us at ease immediately because of the way he explained the issues and solutions for each project. He is very professional. We will request Raul when the work is scheduled.

The somewhat emergency service call was last Saturday when we returned home to find that our water filtration system in our Garage was leaking water. One hour later Tom M with George Brazil arrived and immediately identified the issue and fixed the elbow that was leaking!

Having seen my negative review, a George Brazil representative contacted me. He told me a personnel change resulted in their failure to contact me earlier as promised. He admitted a mistake was made on the bill and credited my credit card the amount of the diagnostic charge. I very much appreciated that he admitted mistakes were made. He apologized and made no attempt to cover up or make excuses. All in all, I feel honest mistakes were made and would not hesitate to call on them for work in the future.

[redacted] was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He explained everything to me and even came back to install on a Sunday, his day off. [redacted] went far beyond his call of duty to represent George Brazil and he deserves an A+ for his efforts. :)

The service provided was beyond excellent, from the time I called till the plumber arrived (Ernesto J.) and resolved my problem quickly. Would recommend this company to everyone.

EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE,A COMPANY WILL SEND YOU A SERVICE PRO TO PERFORM A REPAIR IN YOUR HOUSE THAT IS EXCEPTIONAL. HARD WORKER,FRIENDLY,GREAT APPERANCE,EASY TO TALK WITH. SUCH A PERSON[KEVIN S.] WORKS FOR GEORGE BRAZIL PLUMBING. IN A VERY SHORT TIME HE INSTALLED A NEW WATER HEATER IN MY HOUSE.

I was charged $164.00 to have the plumbing cleared between dishwasher and the garbage disposal. what a rip off.

When I called they were very polite and helpful. They called back in the time frame that they stated. When the tech arrived he listened and was knowledgeable and helpful in quickly solving my problem.

This is the second year in a row we've had Mark do our yearly electrical inspection. He has been prompt friendly and professional. He's proud of the company he works for and it shows. Wish all service people had his attitude.

Great service. I am very impressed with this company & their employees. I am definitely going to continue using them for all my plumbing & electrical needs.

[redacted] came to my home today to fix my ceiling fan. Unfortunately for me it was not my electrical but the ceiling fan itself. [redacted] made the experience more enjoyable by answering many questions I had regarding lighting and fixtures, as well as putting in a recessed lighting fixture. He also set me up with a plan to help cut down the cost.
I can't say enough about [redacted], he is a true professional.
