Gemini General Contracting, LLC Reviews (24)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I am disappointed it took 16 days for Gemini to respond to my previous correspondence through the Revdex.com that I filed back on August 24th.  My wife and I understand the Mechanic’s Lien; however, stating that I have not discussed financial payment since August 2nd is false and misleading.  My wife has been in communication via email with Angela Sharp of Gemini since August 11th, asking for clarification of costs and inquiring about Gemini’s warranties.  While some of the costs have been explained, Gemini has still not divulged their warranty information via the email communication that has been occurring.  I wrote TBD on some of the cost deductions because my wife and I did not know at the time how much it would cost for another contractor to come and correct the work done incorrectly.  With the plethora of recent storms and heavy rainfall, there has been water running down our chimney into our roof since Gemini neglected to do the chimney flashing.  Our front porch roof has not been properly covered since Gemini removed the shingles on May 19th, nearly four months ago.  After completion of the roof, Doug B[redacted] of Gemini stated that the roof will look wavy at first but will settle after a month.  Our roof still does not look proper and settled, nearly four months later.  I have attached several pictures that demonstrate some of our concerns.  My wife and I wish to settle this fairly with Gemini so that we may seek another contractor to finish our home repairs before our exposed house receives any more damage caused by the weather.
Regards,

Gemini should acknowledge and take responsibility for the poor install and the damage that was done to our house as a result.  Below are concerns that we have sent to Gemini about our roof and have not received follow up that address the concerns outlined below. The roof looks uneven and is visually unappealing. We addressed this concern with the project manager that stopped by our house after the roof was installed in May. We pointed out the waviness of the roof and what appeared to be a popped shingle. Doug assured us that the shingles would settle after a few hot days and that the appearance would look more uniform within the weeks to follow, but that has not been the case. The roof still looks uneven and is visually unappealing. In addition to the appearance of the roof, the roof is currently leaking from where the roof was not installed properly and fastened correctly to the decking. I have went up into my attic during the recent thunderstorms and I have notice leaking. There is leaking especially around the chimney because the roof was not properly fastened. We have also noticed a popped shingle as well from where a nail has popped up due to it not being secure into the sheathing. We have had a third party adjuster come and inspect the work that was completed and they agree with us that the work is very poor and not completed properly. We would like to have all parts of the roof fixed that were not completed correctly. We also request that the work be completed under our supervision.Regards,[redacted]

1. Mr. [redacted] chose to work with us on his insurance loss. His insurer asked for us to submit an estimate.  We did. We never expected that they settle the claim with just an estimate and without showing up themselves to do an estimate. However, they did. The estimate then was thoroughly gone...

through with Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] where they chose not to do certain things so as to save money. We agreed on what we were to do, wrote everything up on a clear agreement, and proceeded with construction. 2. We did a horrible job wrapping Mr. [redacted]'s window. Our employee did not do a good job and was subsequently let go for it. We immediately acknowledged that with Mr. [redacted] when he complained, agreed, and said that we would re-do it. We then showed up to complete the flat portion of the roof and they told us to leave. The window wrap was replaced with a sub contractor that has performed work for us for years with no complaints.3. It's been nearly two months since we've been on the property. We have been trying to conclude this matter with Mr. [redacted] by deducting from the work we did (based off the estimate and agreement) the items we did not do or the items he is unsatisfied with. Mr. [redacted] has left major questions as to this agreement by labeling the cost of deduction as TBD. He had the city inspector inspect his roof and the city inspector put in writing that the roof met all minimum requirements for code. Our goal is to conclude our business with Mr. [redacted]. We've been trying to do so for two months.

Just pick a day and time at the latter part of next week.
