In response to the complaint on our charges for unit that was locked by a tenant. When the tenant moves out it is their responsibility to remove their belongings, leave the unit clean, remove their lock and close the door.In this case we did receive notice that customer was planning on leaving, but no notice that she had leftHer lock (customers use their own locks and we do not have any keys to their locks) was on the unitAfter sending a bill she did not want to pay for the months she had the unit locked and was asked to remove the lockShe said she would send a key but it never came to usIf the key was sent no key was received and no indication that a key was enclosed in any communication sent.We did not know the unit was empty until she told us, because she had her lock on the unit. Our facility is gated and customers have an individualized code to enterOnly customers that currently are renting a unit are allowed through the gateThere are also security cameras that document customers coming and goingThe statement “so it does not get vandalized” is unfounded.Complaint: Customer unwilling to pay for occupied time and unwilling to remove her lock or pay to have lock removed

no notice that she had left. Her lock (customers use their own locks and we do not have any keys to their locks) was on the unit. After sending a bill she did not want to pay for the months she had the unit locked and was asked to remove the lock. She said she would send a key but it never came to us. If the key was sent no key was received and no indication that a key was enclosed in any communication sent.We did not know the unit was empty until she told us, because she had her lock on the unit. Our facility is gated and customers have an individualized code to enter. Only customers that currently are renting a unit are allowed through the gate. There are also security cameras that document customers coming and going. The statement “so it does not get vandalized” is unfounded.Complaint: Customer unwilling to pay for occupied time and unwilling to remove her lock or pay to have lock removed.
