*** contacted our office after receiving communications from the *** *** *** *** *** regarding overdue payment for additional anesthesia and facility fees in connection with *** *** surgical procedure I explained to *** that ***
*** was not charging any additional surgeon's fees, but the surgery center and anesthesia provider were billing for the additional time that was required to complete her son's procedure *** *** does not own the surgery center and has no control or influence over their fee structure or billing practices--it is a completely independent entity I further explained that since the patient was under the age of consent at the time of his procedure, *** (his mother) or his father had signed documents at the surgery center prior to *** surgery agreeing that they would be financially responsible for any additional facility and anesthesia fees in the event that the surgery took longer than anticipated*** was also informed that *** ***'s estimate of time required for her son's surgery was exactly that--an estimate ***, *** ***'s administrator/patient consultant at that time, agreed to a cash price for *** ***'s surgeon fees, but did not have the authority to make any agreements regarding fees for the surgery center *** ***'s quote, which was provided to *** during her son's consultation, specifically states the following:
Facility and anesthesia fees are ONLY an estimate Should a procedure under general anesthesia take longer than originally estimated, the patient is responsible for the additional fees (Please see attachment, page 2)
I again explained to *** that she had signed documents at the surgery center that stipulated that if her son's surgery extended beyond the originally estimated time, that she would be responsible for any additional facility and anesthesia fees I again explained that *** *** had not charged any additional fees
The billing *** received reflects *** *** *** *** *** facility and anesthesia fees only *** *** did contact the surgery center on behalf of the patient and requested that the additional fees be forgiven That request was denied So, while our office does understand ***' concerns, we do not have the ability to negate the charges

On November 9, 2014 I received a notice to collections from the doctor’s surgery center in the amount of $[redacted] apparently for additional hour of sedation.
I tried to communicate with the doctor but I was directed to speak with new administrator by the name of [redacted] who does not want to hear our concerns and demands that payment should be done.Desired Settlement: Other
